can you write me a story?--
one of the photos which i didn't really like at first. but went through the lot again today and decided i'd use it anyway. spent quite a while on the post processing/digital imaging.. model is me, photographer is xiaochuan. taken in a small personal studio during my trip to beijing.

This picture evokes any number of stories with its emotion. I can understand why you might not like it, but in the eyes of a viewer that isn't you, there is beauty.

The grand ball was last night. Her faery godmother showed up with a pumpkin for a coach, six white mice for horses. Of course the dress was from Versace and the undies from a knockoff of Victoria's Secret. Witty little thong, actually.
She had arrived at 11PM, fashionably late. The crowd parted like the Red Sea for Moses when she came through the door. When she and the Prince locked eyes, there was a tunnel built between them and all else were immediately exiled far away, as far as they were concerned. He was tall, dressed in emerald livery, and though his eyes seemed a bit to protrude when he looked at her, she was certain it was with love.
They danced every dance. The clock, relentless as a train, cruel as a faery tale, clicked forward. She had just said something extremely witty (she had heard the joke from the butler to the second scullery maid when she had been sitting in the ashes of the fireplace just the night before) and the prince was laughing almost so loudly that she had to stop him to find out what was that chime. It was midnight, the Prince had replied. She struggled to get away. She had to get back to the pumpkin. He grabbed her hand. Nothing was worth running away from and he would love her no matter what, he tried to tell her. She persisted and then that is when it happened. He kissed her, and worse, she kissed him.
She had been prepared for the Versace to go back to Elton John's closet, prepared for her tiara to become a darning hoop, even for her shoes to turn back into size 11 Viet Nam combat boots, but she had not expected...
him to turn into a frog! "Oh damn," she exclaimed.
"Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit," said the Prince which she could understand as, "So, I am a little different. I have lots of money and I think you are hotter than the Lemon Fanta girl."
She let go of his green and squishiness and fled back to the fireplace at home. To sit. To think. To consider. And then this morning, she looked into her reflection on the pot she was scrubbing: the bastard had given her warts!
