I really love your artwork! Hell I'm using one yours for my avatar (seem familiar?). I hope you can reply to this question I have and I really need your help. See the one used for my avatar (blood lust)? Well, I redrew it myself in pencil only and added the words in a creepy text "No matter how deep you go I will always be with you". I have this drawing and I cherish it as one of my best. I really would like to show it on deviantart but I'm really terrified of the whole plagiarismΒ thing, so I wanted to ask this. Will I ever be able to submit any of my artwork into deviantart? Because the problem is that I can't draw from my imagination, only what from what I see. So I basically sketch drawings that others have made that I find interesting and draw them myself. So do you have any suggestions? I could really use some advice here. Thank you very much!

Hey there!
It's fine as long as you credit the artist and post a link to the original artwork. People will only look at you suspiciously if you don't do that or make money out of it XD
I totally understand what you're coming from! I started out doing the same thing with art, anime and comics that I adored because I didn't know where to start or what to put on the paper. I suggest observing many things like people, objects, scenery, illustrations, comics, animations and movies. I highly recommend the last two because they have the whole package: movement, various camera angles, SFX, dialogue, different settings, story, music... they're filled with inspiration! Everything I know now is taken from what I've seen. People basically develop their own styles by copying bits of everything
If you need help with anything else, let me know!

I have a question for you. When you did "bloodlust", what was your first step? Because I want to make a scary scene from my own imaginationΒ ( like a scary nightmarish landscape). But I don't know where to start. I want it in a room or hallway and I've seen enough survival horror games to know what elements are necessary, but I can'tΒ think of anything original. And if I do, it comes out soΒ horrible it looks like a two year old drew it. So what was the first thing you did when doing something morbid like "bloodlust"? (which I admit is my favorite, hell I'm using it as my avatar!) Could really use some advice.

Hmmm.. It wasn't meant to be morbid at first. I honestly didn't plan it to look the way it is now. I was doodling the woman on my sketchbook at first to kill time at school. Then I decided it would be more interesting if she was actually descending and reaching down to a guy floating in some body of water for an almost-kiss. When I scanned it and felt like colouring it, I decided to replace water with blood for a more intense and dramatic feel.
Sometimes the results of some artwork are unexpected and unplanned. It's actually much harder to draw something you've planned because it almost never turns out the way you wanted it to be. I have a lot of unfinished drawings for that reason. I've had many doodles on textbooks that look better than stuff that I try to draw on purpose. I don't think there's a true formula to drawing the stuff that you'd be proud of every time. I can only suggest trying all sorts of drawings, adding to them when you think it can be improved, refer to various other images like, (if you want something morbid) Silent Hill artworks, posters of dark-themed movies, dramatic black and white photographs, pictures of abandoned hospitals, factories... anything, really! If you're aiming for something artistic (and somewhat pretty/romantic) like Bloodlust, then looking at other artists' works help too. Personally I would look at stuff by Alphonse Mucha, Audrey Kawasaki, Gustav Klimt, Marina-B (who makes hauntingly beautiful ball-jointed dolls) but that's just me XD

I can see you've always been quite talented. My eyes are instantly drawn to the changes in colours that are used. I can't wait to see how it'll continue to evolve too!
Oh yes, 2003 fourth pannel: The boink fish makes me laugh so much.

I guess that's possibly true..
I wish I could have done better and drawn more comics back then. Still trying to improve! Actually, no one ever stops improving. It's endless, so let's do our best, yeah? XD;
Thanks for the comment and sorry for the late reply! DX

Oh the envy. This is depressing. I'm 17 and I pretty much started drawing seriously/manga when I was 15. And you where better than I am now when you where 15 o.o Damn you might have been better even before that...
I guess I have to practice a LOT more then.
