Description
Something that was supposed to get done on the 21st but was delayed due to procrastination, Christmas, sickness, and a car accident. This represents the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.I decided not to give them any CMs, the same way Sombra doesn't have his.

i taught of a fan theory of this image, that the apocalypse ponies are nightmare moon's minions and when celestia sent her to the moon, the apocalypse ponies are sent to tartarus for their crimes. but they are immortal. famine war and teath are in cages, but disease is in a metal box, so no illness is spred in tatrarus

Reminds me of that Robot Chicken sketch where these four showed up to punish the kids that were being bad. However I do not laugh about it, because the Apocalypse is a very bad thing. Though these four would make great villains for the series. Cool pic.

Plus, the four of them kind of have a similarity to Zaheer and his cronies from Avatar: The Legend of Korra. Only these represent the Apocalypse. Like I said though, cool pic.

War is the fire maned, Pestilence is the decaying one, Death is the armored one, and Famen is the scrawny one. But my only problem with this is Death and Famen. They're the wrong colors. Famen is suppose to be black and Death is suppose to be white.

I'm sorry but this is incorrect, the 4 horsemen are as follows, Conquest (rides a white horse, wields a bow but no arrows mentioned), War (rides a red horse, wields a mighty sword), Famine/Plague (rides a sickly horse, is told to make the entire earth suffer from a famine/plague),and then Death (rides a pale horse, the only rider who is actually named because he is actually death). I hate to nitpick but this really urks me.

Not always. sometimes the white horseman is called Victory and the red one is Conquest, or the white horse is War and the Red Horseman is Strife.
But yeah, Pestilence isn't actually supposed to be part of the group, he was added in the aftermath of the black plague, both to represent the devastation of plague and to correct the perceived overlap between the roles of the white and red horse. (You have to admit, war/victory/conquest/strife does seem a bit redundant). Still could be worse. I've seen them broken down as Victory/Strife/Famine/Plague (with the pale horse, who as you pointed out is the only one actually named, being plague) and darksiders changes famine to Fury (so they have War/Strife/Fury/Death, which is even more redundant)
That said I personally like the modern depiction, innacurate to history as it may be. And I like this pic, very clever and well drawn.

I understand how a bat-winged black pegasus, a furious flame-maned mare, and a contagious-looking, plague-carrying, zombie are menacing, but how does Famine fit in? Is she going to be thin at you?
(Also, 3 earth ponies, one pegasus, and no unicorns. I'm sensing an imbalance.)

Arguably they could all be alicorns.
Other than that, I'd vote Famine as unicorn
...or maybe have her be a pegasus (light as air), with Pestilence as a unicorn, War as an earth pony, and Death as an Alicorn.

War. It's easier to fight when you have magic on your side. She doesn't seem like the hulking type, so a transition from earth pony wouldn't detract much.

Maybe Famine to give her a better look with everypony else. I was wondering about Pestilence, but the horn maybe would look broken there.
All of them look good as it is. I did not need to have one of them as a unicorn or even have the leather wings to see who they was.
I also like War's eyes. They scream of the dark magic that was shown in Crystal Empire.
But turning her into a unicorn would only make her look more like Twilight in a pink Rapidash form.
Death don't need a horn. Death is already master/mistress of the... well... dead. Doing a death alicorn maybe would only give him/her a better look for control of the dead, but would also look too much and create a larger imbalance.
So here is who I think would look better as a unicorn out of the other three, and that don't mean better better, more like who would fit best.
I think Famine would look better then Pestilence or War as a unicorn.
