One thing kind of annoys me. You make it look like Madoka enjoys the company of Homura more so than the reverse. This is the opposite of what's in the show.

Idk about that. After a while, Homura kind of tried to hide her emotions and put up the tough/emotionless front. I can see that here (also, the ear twitching reaction makes me think that she's secretly enjoying it.

Tis partly influenced by the ask blogs--I run the Homura blog and a friend runs the Madoka one, and Madoka's a bit more cuddly in their blog. Plus Homura's still incredibly reserved.

It's got a bit of implied relationships going on, but it's mostly pretty dark and so fucking tragic oh my god.
If you're interested or curious, give the first three episodes a watch--the theme totally changes by ep 3 and you see how grim it really is.

Despite having a very dark story it's characters still has some common anime characterisitics that can be used to turn anything cute.
Slightly larger than average sized heads, big colorful eyes, and of course colorful hair.
Now just make them into chibis or in this case cats,(you're the first artist i've seen do this X3) and you'll give anyone a heart attack.
