now with this picture, is it a black and white with colour added or is it actually a colour picture, it's just that there was such a small amount of colour?

actually this is a color with a diffuse color filter to give the nominal color effect. so almost looks like a B&W.

I didn't want to touch up this photo to lose the facial affects but you are absolutely right about colors. B&W would probably expose the features drastically. thanks for the great feedback and support Valerie. And please if you have any advise on any of the pics I will be very happy to take it
