Brenda wasn’t the smartest in the world, but she was always the most reasonable. She would use moral reasoning in the most intense and dire situations and she rarely made a bad decision. After passing her GCSE’s she went to college. Dropped out because she wasn’t really that interested in the subject and went into work as a receptionist for a job-centre. She loved the work, but not the people.
After leaving before she could find another job (something she was encouraged to do by her employers) she put adverts in the newspaper.
After a few months, she fancied a change. She moved from her home town and went to London. To her amazement, just as decided this, the discovery of a cure for the plague was being broadcast everywhere! She saw this as a sign and happily moved out.
She was in town one day when a man like a tank gently patted her on the shoulder, introduced himself as ‘Rock’, asked if she was single and if she wanted a job… the two weren’t involved, but he would like to fill both positions for her.
She turned him down… but took him up on the job.
She couldn’t believe her luck! The job was everything she could want! Her boss was a little of a shut-in but she tried her best to keep him smiling. He seemed to like the attention. She was impressed to find that this man, only a year older than herself, had found the cure!
For the next two years, she made tea (napalm-syrup flavoured for Zed), processed forms and was generally nice to everyone… until HE came…
She refuses to talk about what he did to her but the effects were that she ended up impregnated and restrained. Her virginity was in tact but it was a miracle she wasn’t killed by the creatures that grew inside her…
Zed saved her life by cutting the monsters out of her womb… then apparently sacrificed himself to save her from them!
She healed fast. Rock helped her a lot. But she felt… different…
The psychologist said that her personality had changed a great deal, this was true. She felt… less shy. She’d been through hell and there’s no-bloody-thing that’s going to compare any time soon so the hell with it!
She had a crush on a co-worker and she followed it through… eventually loosing her virginity but being disappointed that there was not more in their relationship. Her reason held firm and they parted on good terms, an unspoken agreement that when she needed that sort of thing, she would call on him. And she would make him a cup of tea if he was around…
Sensing an unspoken connection between them, she propositioned Zed… he was ashamed that he couldn’t justify saying yes because of his position in the labs. But he wanted to. She was saddened… but after a few very intimate moments late at night, they admitted that they would have been great together… but they won’t.
Brenda, seeing any form of affection, returned to Rock… she was shocked that a man so huge (and with a reputation as a bit of a sex-hound), was so gentle and kind to her. She spent a few nights just in his arms to try and stem her terrible loneliness.
It wasn’t long later she decided that she wanted to be more help to the labs. The paperwork was being tackled by the new computer system and she was rapidly running out of responsibilities… so she volunteered to be Zed’s test-subject…
Zed did various little things… then he opened up a poll for a surrogacy programme to help repopulate Brittan… after a lot of soul-searching, she volunteered for that!
She was happy with the results! She was getting regular pay to do what she wanted… only, she was starting to realise that having something alive growing inside her was a lot nicer than she could have imagined.

Hopes:
to meet a man like Zed (but not him) and eventually settle down and have a family. And lots of kittens too! She would also like to swim with dolphins, go rock-climbing, surf well at least once, learn to play a banjo and eat a whole wedding cake to herself.
