Description Happy New Year~~!

Something to learn: I got a thing for blue. Yeahh, hahah x)
but.. the key is happiness; that's how you draw 'good' or atleast better heh
that and courage, and some warm-up. Of course you need skill, but this is very essential... I think

what medium do you use?

ZCrims In reply to monicaivan [2016-01-08 13:30:02 +0000 UTC]

it differs ^^ I do a lot digital (photoshop or sai) in this piece it's Photoshop :3, but I actually draw more traditionally, it's more studies then so I don't upload it that much heh,
I'm pretty varied so I like testing new mediums

i would've thought this piece is either traditional or sai.
same here, only it sucks cause whenever you try to take a picture of/scan a traditional drawing it loses half the colour and brightness
are you studying something drawing-related for uni? or just personal studies?

but yeah would not have guessed you can do such nice textures in photoshop

Well, I only used a round brush from Conceptcookie on it, however it took a time before I knew how to blend and stuff. Photoshop can be a pain ^^' I've been doing digital for 4 years now x')
Yeah about traditional art, I've read if you have the right lightning, and camera it should be fine. Or edit it in photoshop maybe works
..I'm studying art in school, just got in this year, but before I've been studying on my own  you?

i've been working with photoshop for 7-8 years now and i'm still nowhere close to this level. Cannot figure out how to get the 'painting' effect in ps.
my flatmate has a great camera but as for lighting, i live in scotland and it's dark all the time lol. and the lightbulbs are just..oh well you know

well i've finished school 3 years ago, studied architecture for 2 years but dropped out as i didn't like it. Now trying to get into animation uni

but yeah I had to learn everything drawing related on my own

You can get to this level , if one just sets their mind to ^w^ I just had ease with PS, since I'm a fast learner with computer programs, found the right videos and so on, I recommend to watch how the masters/professionals draw digital on PS and try to mimic them, I would reccomend these videos (skip to 13:00 somethin' they talk a lot ) : plus.google.com/events/cut44rl…
but i don't remember if he brings it up but using the colorpicker which is the button 'i' on the keyboard while the brush is 'b', and when you know that you can switch over to one and the other as you're blending, which is the tactic I use to go about it ^^ without it... aagh.. don't want to think about it .. x)
he explains pretty much; www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ajyfn… ;
Hope it helps, as for the lightbulbs... *gets chills* better lightning can't be found xD *sarcasm*

haha for me it was more of a 'uu what does this button do?' kinda learning than watching videos. it was slower indeed but enjoyable ^^
i know the shortcuts for the tools(i mean, cmooon), but i guess i never really tried to learn techniques, but i'll give the video a look, thank you
