It took me roughly two weeks to make this mask using papier-mΓ’chΓ© and gesso. A fuck ton of gesso. To be honest, I don't feel like explaining the lengthy, painstaking process, but ask away if you have any questions about it.Special thanks to Not Bad Cosplay and my mom for all the help!

It's strapped to my head. I cut one of these headbands and attached it to the mask.

Thanks! I like to spike my hair up when I wear the mask, so with gel and wax I manipulate a small bunch to serve as the "sprout."
That can be a pain in the bunholio, though, so I'll probably incorporate a more convenient fixture eventually.

I'm sitting here looking at this spray paint and resin in front of me.. Trying to figure out which one guys first.. How do I use this!
I am in the middle of making my own Cry masks. Mad Cry and Cry, really crappy photos were taken if you want to look at them..
Do.. Do you know which goes first?.. I paint, then pour.. or pour then paint..

They look pretty sweet to me.
Sadly, I don't have any experience with resin. I coated mine with gesso, which is a sort of plaster used to prime surfaces for painting. I recommend that because you can sand it smooth and it still soaks up paint like a sponge. Additionally, it's rather pliable if applied correctly, so you won't have to worry about it cracking or chipping off over time. It even comes in white!

The ones I'm making now.. the eyes, I didn't have a proper thing to cut them with. It's also
my first ever attempt at this, so it's looking good so far!
It's for a costume party on the 30th of October, so that's why it looks maybe.. a bit rushed.
My friend told me I should use resin because it will give it a nice reflective look to it,
Β because the art I showed her had a flat, shiny surface.. Basically the mask wasn't clay like in the art.
I hope to wear it to school when it's done, I have a red hoodie for the Mad Cry and I'm looking out for a
Green hoodie for the .. normal Cry.

Yep! Initially I was going to do that with the eyes, but since they are such a peculiar shape I decided to do the mouth instead. Probably see more out of that anyhoo.

Trust me you will. I have made a couple cardboard cry masks and had the holes in the eyes... I can't see shit. So it just sits on the side of my head unless it's for a picture. Then I move it.

Well you also have a curved surface for your mask. So it might have better vision in the eyes too. I dunno.
