I've been told by a few friends that this self portrait does not resemble me (even though I looked in a mirror when painting this). Possibly because my hair isn't red--it's brown, and I usually wear a smile on my face (which is way too difficult to hold for that long!). Regardless I hope you enjoy this, since it's my first time really taking time to paint in a while.

You look good. I really like the red hair! It's funny how you can draw yourself and think you look as close to 'you' as you can get, and then turn around and have your friends/family say it looks nothing like you

And yeah, that's so true. It's because you never really see yourself when you're talking to other people or your 'resting face' usually, but also you don't see what others see in you. It's weird how much personality can be put into a portrait you paint of someone you know personally, simply because you see them in a different way.
