Coffee: Daww, this is just like a faerie tale!
Afan: I really have to know what faerie tales are you talking about?
Coffee: the Mabinogion!
Afan: I need to check out your library some time. Wait, do you think Plum likes that guy? She could do way better.
Coffee: you mean yourself don't you? See I know what's up, go shank him!

I was just going to make this a simple character picture but I was board and just sort of recklessly filled a background that was much more elaborate than I had planed.

I love characters who are both cultured and a little goofy.
She may be crazy, but "Afan" means to forgive.
I can picture you in a market, examining the produce in such an intent/ scrutinizing way and having one of your friends bewilder you with romantic notions.

Nice scene, but as usual, the moments between characters is the strongest part. Even without the text in the description there are big expressions and small glances that give characters together in a scene so much more verisimilitude.

I can never quite explain how or why these characters, with their personalities and stories, are all so clear and alive in mind mind. I really want to find some kind of outlet to share their full stories with the world.
For now, if this can cause a least one person to investigate the Mabinogion I will consider this a personal victory.

Me too, the wild ones that grow like crazy around my home town are rock hard and kind of spicy but I use to love eating them in the summer. I think the best kind that I ever had are those Royal Riviera pears.
