Nadel: The problem is not knowing what to expect. The early stages of contact with a new world can pose a endless number of threats. We have learned that looking intimidating is far less of a problem than being vulnerable. I'm only the first of a long list of security measures. Each of them represents an instance of being bitten for being friendly.

The cape may look like a rain poncho but is actually a camouflage system that matches it's surrounding when activated. It can also flash light patterns that disorient. That face plate let's the user see when under the cloak and protects from the flash pattern.ย
Every thing is intended to be functional but confusing to outside observers. ย It is considered standard practice to be cryptic about the level of technology and capabilities that you have.ย
