I like that we can now see more of the structure, but the change from straw roof to wooden rooftiles was a downgrade. Oh well, sometimes you have to make sacrifics. It's pretty good; I especially like that you imitated the lighting so perfectly.

I thought about making the straw roof and realized that it would be extremely difficult to pull off in 3D the way i wanted to look, so the rooftiles had to suffice. But i do agree with you, i would definitely want to see the straw roof!

I love this piece! I love how your models appear to be stylistic, and your textures appear to have more realism. I am an environment artist as well, and I would just love to learn from your process and how you created this. I would be very interested to know how you created your textures. At first I thought you may have hand painted them, but they look more procedural then I thought they were. I would also be interested is seeing your wireframes if you wouldn't mind sharing them. I would greatly appreciate it. Keep up the good work! With work like this, it's only a matter of time before you get work in industry.

About the textures, the albedo map is mostly based on photos that i modified and did some matte painting on top of. Some parts of the texture, however, were hand painted. The rocks on the lower walls, for example, were hand drawn from a Zbrush base, and the windows were completely hand drawn. I hope that answered some of your questions, and you're free, of course, to pm me if you want to know more
