Background: Keani was born and raised in Seashore nest to a young single mother. His mother was tough but not unkind; She would kill for her kid but she wasn't the type of parent to "clip his wings", so to speak. To succeed, you have to fail and fail again, she'd tell him. He was an rambunctiouschild that could never stay still, who loved the ocean even when the waves crashed angrily on shore.
                    Keani has always had a bit of a daredevil streak in him, always wanting to test his limits even if that meant getting injured in the process. His ma never stopped him, she would advise him against it of course, but she wouldn't stop him from doing what he wanted. She also wouldn't get angry when he'd inevitably show up crying with a new injury, she'd simply shake her head and ask "What did we learn?" whilst patching him up.
                    Keani didn't have a lot of friends growing up, mostly because there weren't those many doots running around - most were either older than him, or were still too little to play. So he made his own fun, always going to the beach to bother the fishermen and swim amongst the fish, collecting stones to take home to his ma who would turn them into little accessories he would proudly wear. He would often go to the highest cliffs and jump into the water - oftentimes he'd scrape himself against the rocks but it was never serious enough to deter him from it, even if his mum would tut at him when he showed up with new bumps.
                    Keani eventually did manage to make a friend, a sweet lil doot that was about his age and actually enjoyed hanging out with him. He showed her the best spots around Seashore - the cliffs, the Golden Meadows, the best stalls at the market square that would give you free things sometimes.
                    As he grew older, Keani's love for the sea remained strong. He learnt to surf, made his first surfboard himself - a rickety thing that broke the first time he crashed onto shore (yes, he cried). There has never been a day where Keani hasn't gone swimming, his hair has since become fried from both the sea and the sun. His mum made him get a job when he was old enough to do so, stating that if he "liked the sea so much, he might as well make a profit out of it" and, in a way, he guessed she was right.

                      Kiani is an extroverted and outgoing individual who thrives on social interactions, always eager to make new friends and forge connections with others, making everyone around him feel welcome and included. Kiani is incredibly affectionate as well, and loves giving hugs and high-fives to his friends and strangers alike. He is known for his infectious laughter and positive attitude, which can brighten anyone's day. However, despite his outgoing nature, Kai is overly sensitive to criticism and conflict. He goes out of his way to avoid any kind of confrontation, even if it means sacrificing his own needs or opinions to keep the peace. This tendency to be a people-pleaser often leaves him feeling overwhelmed, as he struggles to balance his own desires with the expectations of others. He has this innate fear that people will leave him eventually, that he won't be good enough to keep them around.
                 Keani's easily distractible nature means he can sometimes struggle with focus and staying on task, and he's bound to be forgetful of things such as dates and time. Additionally, Keani isn't the ambitious sort and he'd rather live day-to-day than actual set goals for himself.

               Ø Koko [childhood friend/girlfriend] - Stumbling upon Koko wasn’t planned, but he quickly found her interesting - not because of her looks mind you (although he was a little curious about the scales), but because she had been the first doot he’d come across who didn’t immediately tell him to scram. She listened when he babbled although he could see she was a bit apprehensive at first but they quickly became inseparable, and Keani would always rope Koko into his crazy stunts much to Koko’s mum’s chagrin. Their relationship hit a bump when Keani got in trouble with Koko’s mum during their teen years, after Koko arrived home with an injury that was a bit more severe than just a scrap. Keani started second guessing everything, started to be more careful with Koko to the point of being overbearing, trying his best to keep both mum and daughter happy - but it was impossible and eventually blew up in his face. It was the worst fight they’ve ever had, with Keani trying to explain his side and Koko angrily telling him off. They did come to an agreement and their friendship hold strong to this day; Keani has since fallen in love with Koko which, according to his mum, was “bound to happen”. And after a messy confession with a lot of mixed messages thrown in, they’re now in a relationship.
