Description I'm heading out tonight to a conference and this is my platform. I'll be joined by yemeni activist tawakkul karman and hopefully - I can get her to sign this for me XD.

Update:

Alas I couldn't get any time to talk to her. As soon as we were done the table was literally swamped and security personnel swept her off. I did leave her an original copy of this and another piece I made for the event; and left her my email inside at the front desk. Whether or not they gave it to her I don't know, but at least I got to meet a fellow human rights activist that has given so much for her people.

I remember the first time I ever spoke those words - I was 10 years old and I thought I knew everything. I never thought these words would still reign true and that I would still be uttering them today. I have the tribes of old to thank for this saying.

I hope you all use this for whatever good purpose you have.

too bad a lot of people do not even recognize or know the difference between the oppressors and the oppressed =/

The lines are not clearly drawn in the sand though. It is our conscience that compels us to look closer to things.

then what I meant was, most people don't have a conscience these days. or at least, they're burying it with everything they can to not pay attention to it. A lot of psychological diseases if you ask me.

Complacency is the word I would choose. Just watch as all these people go about their days in the malls blissfully in delusion of their own guilt and contribution to those they inflict pain towards - and how arrogantly superior they all regard themselves. I feel so bad for the people who sit in the bathrooms day in and out cleaning up after filth and smelling nothing but peoples shit in order to make less than 50 dollars a month - when the ministry bothers to pay them that is. I always wish to be rich and massively wealthy just to give it all away to those that could use such compassion.

What's even worse. Some people have an understanding of what you just said but willingly choose not to care cuz they might think it's not relevant to them or of course the "what can I possibly accomplish alone?" syndrome. I think those are worse than what you described. and I think everyone has a small bit if that personality in some form. disgusting.

Would you consider yourself as one of those people?

I believe that in this era, people have more or less become machines.. Hypnotised. Controlled, manipulated, schizophrenic, you name it. And not many are fortunate to realise the real world today Because at this stage, people are already saturated, unable to think for themselves. I do not consider myself as one of those people, however, i have the strain. I consider it to be a sickness.. That i am struggling to defeat. It would take time, and I am Striving to become a free human. I might not be politically active, but politics aren't everything. Each one plays a role in what he can do best. And I am getting there too. And I have friends, and people that I know are journeying with me in some sort of way. Of course, that's only a portion of what I truly believe, there're many aspects.. I can't simply cover everything but yea...

It's one thing to talk but it's quite another to act on your convictions.

Of course, people can say anything and act differently.

Or say something and not act on what they say at all.

well whether they do something "different" or "nothing at all" it's still not going according to "what they've spoken"
what are we talking about anyways? xD
