Not only does Aidan Stockwell gaze into the Abyss, he also actually uses it as his personal gateway. Really, did any of my players ever think that the man was sane? No? Good, because he clearly isn't. (What did you expect—he is able to follow Charles Amberville's antics, after all.)

Normally, he's got steel-blue eyes (whatdoyoumeanhe'saClarick? *coughs*) but I found it funny to give him red ones this time, both for the sake of the picture's color scheme and to reflect his attunement to, er, whatever dwells there in the Shadows. Also, someday, I swear I'll use something else than a brick wall as background. I don't know why I have that Aidan!walls thingy going. Every time I draw him, it just ends up to seem... fitting. Perhaps it's a sure sign that he makes everyone, including yours truly, feel like whacking their heads against a wall? Mwah.

Here's my take on the Obtenebration Discipline (for 's contest ), and more specifically about one of its more complex aspects. I must say I've always had a liking for the theory interpreting Obtenebration as a form of 'spiritual magic' (the shadows, arms, etc as creatures summoned from the Abyss, rather than 'mere' shadows that you could maybe dissipate by just putting a strong light nearby), and so I wanted to try to see what I could come up with regarding the "Walk The Abyss" level—hence the things lurking in the darkness. Somehow, I think I was also influenced by the reality-rending Porté sorcery from 7th Sea. Anyway, I found it quite appropriate, so I went along with the idea.
