I allways found it a shame we cannot develope further the romance with Serana, or marry her, at least without mods.
But to Bethesda's defence, her aversion to relationships, has sense seeing what happened to her ....

Depends on who the Thalmor will let become emperor. Remember, their agents are allowed to do whatever they want in the empire. Any imperial noble who still has a spine would probably be assassinated before they became a threat.
