I'll keep a running tab of all the folks that will be allowed to use the stamp, and all you have to do is link in the comments below the art/journal/poll you made. “What about potatoes?” Amy suggests, a flavoured thought spoken far more seriously than one might have hoped. “What?” Mae glances in the direction of her younger friend, hands busy removing clumps of red hair from a body brush. “Potatoes!” the auburn-haired twenty year old repeats, this time seemingly more sure of herself, “Potatoes are Irish right? You know, like - diddly dee potatoes!” A low rumble begins in the throat of her blonde friend, escalating rather quickly into a bemused burst of laughter, “Are you suggesting we hang potatoes from your horses pasterns or something?” Hands work more quickly, as though the jovial atmosphere had suddenly infected her motivation, Mae’s outfit now becoming sprayed with horse-dust and loose portions of russet hair.
With the (quite ridiculous) idea quickly shrugged off, there is barely a few minutes spared for silence; Enchantress nibbling patiently on her haynet whilst her busy human duo fumble with clover décor and thoroughly groom her. Then, all of a sudden, as though the humorous Australian had thought it hilarious to inherit a terrible Irish accent, Amy chirps heartily: “On the banks of the a-Roses, me love and I sat down! And I took out me fiddle, for me to play me love a tune! And in the middle of the tune-o… something about a sigh and Johnny!” and it was most certainly ridiculous and enthusiastic enough to be audible to the entirety of the show grounds. Mae resorted to a dry and discomfited laugh, quickly disappearing in an attempted escape around the quarter’s of her close friends Thoroughbred – of whom surely seemed just as mortified by her handlers sing-song outburst.
As though it wasn’t already enough, “Ah! Now we got the luck o’ the irish on our side,” an advertisement bellowed in an equally as awful accent, as Amy finally finished tying the paper clover into the braided forelock of her mare. Mae groans, somewhere unseen inside the trailer – “It just gets better and better doesn’t it.”
