Herd InformationHerd: Blackwood
Herd Position: Gardener
Mate(s): -
Current Location: Blackwood
Personality:
Bozgilt is not the typical epitome of a Blackwood; his pale coat aside. He is quite meagre in nature, easily deterred by competition and softly spoken - he seeks no qualms with those around him, and generally considers himself below all others. He is gentle, and kindness is evident within the foresty gleam of his greenish eyes and subtle body language. He can be something of a hinderance to the usual character of Blackwood; clinging to those who show an interest in sharing his company, and frequently outstaying his welcome. Though he is not so silly as to be oblivious to his unwelcome, he frequently tries to ignore the fact so as to ease the blow to his fragile confidence.
Some might call him brave, others stupid. Premature death is likely for a paleface in the vicious territory of Blackwood, but he is far more content with physical danger than he is emotional. Though his heart races with prey-like fear when he crosses paths with a hungry predator, Boz is still willing to lose his life for the sake of belonging. No matter how brief.
Appearance: Paleface, as you already know. This grey-ish hued Stag is garnished with spots of white and laced with pinkish skin and hooves. Though he would not appeal to Blackwood women for his hue and meek demeanour, he is not without some masculinity. On the fluffier side, Bozgilt adorns some thickly rugged man-hair from beard to breast and would probably have a luxuriously waved mane and tail if he didn't keep it trimmed fairly short to reduce any further trouble he might have with predators. Sometimes known to cover his body with silt or mud to reduce his silverish glow.
Build wise he is average; not as thin as some Blackwood men with thanks to his Earth magic ability. His shoulders are broad enough to be considered stag-like, and his haunches strong; but he is far from the strappingly fit physique the girls might swoon over.
History:Bozgilt was born to two very disappointed Glenmore parents, who refused to accept him for his unsightly colouration. He wasn't an ideal male and they were too embarrassed to present him to their people. He was abandoned near the outskirts of the territory as a newborn, with the hope somebody outside of the herd would raise him as their own. Instead, he was discovered by a lowly ranked, older Glenmore woman. She told him frequently of his luck, and that the gods had kept him safe from the fierce fawn-taking Oakfern's as they believed him to be of importance. He loved this woman dearly, but he didn't buy into her beliefs, and knowing he was born unwanted stemmed his poorly sense of self-worth.
In Year 769 a small group of Blackwood Raider's crossed paths with Bozgilt at twilight, somewhere near the mountains. They spoke of equality to all who proved their worth. Knowing the dangers that lurked their woods, but seemingly shrugging off Glenmore's frightful tales of Blackwood's people, Bozgilt chose to leave with the Raider's despite having no time to say his goodbye's to his adoptive mother. It took him many seasons of adapting to life on the edge; constantly looking over his shoulder and having several close calls with ferocious predators. The young man narrowly passed his CoA Ritual late in his 7yo season, using his earthly magic ability to ensnare a young boar. Naturally, he took up his position as a Gardener and takes pride in his ability to provide sustenance to the herd.
