Description It was so amazing getting back to my very first base pattern and my Hakama pattern too. I had a lot of fun putting Kira together and seeing that my pattern still work as good as they did back then. But now I had the right haircolor for Izuru, not like before where I used this bright yellow.

This large Izuru doll was a commission for .
I really hope you like your little Izuru.

Thanks so much, thechocolatemarauder for giving me the chance to revisit my old pattern and work on Izuru again.

Thanks so much! He was my...fourth? doll and I'm so proud of the original and revisited one!

I think his feet are my favorite part.

Mine too, especially when it comes to making them. I only don't like to make legs.

My least favorite part of making a doll is the hair. It's sometimes really hard for me to get the desired look, and since I normally crochet the hair it takes a while for me, but I really enjoy making dolls, so even the bits that I don't like really are fun.

I have a new problem with making hair recently. I use liquid craft glue and it worked super great with felt. But my craft store with the biggest felt selection changed their felt quality to very...smooth/hard. So the glue won't hold the hairstrands in place until the glue is dry...after hours.

I hate it when stores change their stuff after having the same
thing for a while.    Did you find a different type or a solution
or will you just keep using the new felt? Maybe a different type
of glue would work better?

Yuki87 In reply to SJFan97 [2014-05-20 15:20:14 +0000 UTC]

I hate that too! They at least could ask me before. I think I have to stick with the new felt or buy it very expensive on the internet. Maybe using another glue might help. Maybe I really should start using hot glue. But the felt pieces are so tiny. Maybe too tiny?

SJFan97 In reply to Yuki87 [2014-05-21 19:36:24 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I think I should personally be asked before MY stores change their products.

I'm not a fan of hot glue because I normally end up burning my fingers. (Maybe I'm
just a clutz ) I know for sure that I would burn my fingers if the pieces were as
small as I imagine the hair of your dolls to be. I guess maybe it just takes practice.
Whatever it is, I really hope you figure it out because I love to see your dolls.

Yuki87 In reply to SJFan97 [2014-05-22 14:28:27 +0000 UTC]

I just imagine it would be totally cute to be asked in some formal letter if the store is allowed to change it's products.

I think I just...have to think of something else. I hate to burn my fingers and I haven't even thought about it so it would be better to just stick with the old glue and felt. Maybe I can fix the hair with pins until it's dry.

SJFan97 In reply to Yuki87 [2014-05-22 19:01:59 +0000 UTC]

That would be cute! and really funny.

If you do end up pinning the hair while it dries, be careful!
I'm not sure if I'm just really bad at gluing things, but I tried
to glue material together and held them together with pins
while they dried. After they dried I couldn't get the pins off.
I ended up having to throw the whole project away. As long
as you don't actually get glue on the pins (or you're not me)
I should think that it will work out right.

Yuki87 In reply to SJFan97 [2014-05-24 11:33:20 +0000 UTC]

I'm totally you. I had the same experience with the pins. It was a horror at first. When I took out the pins before the glue was really hard, nothing happened, but when I forogt to take out the pins....I had to use a pliers to pull out the pins. well, that also means the glue is very strong which is good, right. But now I never leave them in longer than neccessary.

I'm glad your good enough to remember

and completely forget to take them out.

Post-it's are very helpful. I'm so forgetful, that I sometimes even forget to make reminder post-it's or forget to look at them. So it takes a lot of concentration to not forget the pins.

I don't have a phone at all. Just a ipod touch that my brother
didn't want anymore. He was going to throw it away, and I was
like "WAIT!! I WANT IT!" and now it's mine...  It's works really
well for what I want it for though.

Yuki87 In reply to SJFan97 [2014-06-18 10:08:16 +0000 UTC]

It's so cool that a ipod touch can do so many things. I didn't know that.
Same story here with my dad and his old smartphone. He probably would have thrown it away or put it in some box to never be found again. I really like this phone, especially because it has a second case I could decorate.

SJFan97 In reply to Yuki87 [2014-06-19 15:46:07 +0000 UTC]

I've really wanted to decorate a case for my ipod. I think
it's called Decoden? Have you even made anything like that?
I'm just afraid that it will feel really weird and I won't want to
touch it. I think I already said this in a different comment,
but textures are a really important thing in my life. If I don't
like the way something feels I can't bring myself to touch it.
Like plastic bags...I HATE the feeling of a plastic bag.

Yuki87 In reply to SJFan97 [2014-06-22 14:42:40 +0000 UTC]

Yes, Decoden is the work. I decorated several things so far and I really absolutely enjoyed making them (  yuki87.deviantart.com/art/Mirr…  yuki87.deviantart.com/art/Phon… ). But I never used one of them after it because I was too afraid that the rhinestones can come off.
But the process of gluing the stones is just what I love to do.
What I ended up using a lot are the little cans I decorated but with silicone and bigger elements. yuki87.deviantart.com/art/Deco…
When it comes to texture, I definitely prefer some kind of self-adhesive decoration foil or, if it has to be Decoden, then I would recommend half beads. They feel very smooth.
If I'm going to decorate the spare case for my phone, I'm sure I won't use it in the end, or just once to show off. *sigh* I have planned to put big roses and big half beads on it because they look so sweet and just like these fancy Decoden pieces I see here on dA. T^T

They all look so cute! And it's a really good idea to put
the decoden on things like containers that you don't
have to touch as often. Also, I think the fact that the
silicone looks like frosting is so cool! I'll have to start
looking for little things to decorate with. Thank you
so much for the recommendations!! I have a
container that I've been wanting to use for something
(I'm not even sure what) but I haven't used it yet because
I can't get the label off of the top. I'll definitely look into
decoden! Thanks again!

Yuki87 In reply to SJFan97 [2014-06-28 13:57:27 +0000 UTC]

You're most welcome. I'm excited to see what you'll start with! I also have some pretty peacock shaped rhinestones here I could send you the next time.

Maybe you can try letting the container with the label lay in oil for one night. That often helps the label to come off easier.

SJFan97 In reply to Yuki87 [2014-07-02 17:29:49 +0000 UTC]

Peacock rhinestones? That sounds so pretty! I'm thinking that I might use
the two roses that you sent in the last package. Although, I still haven't gone
shopping for the other supplies yet.

That's a good idea, I never thought about that. I think I'll cover this one with
decoden, so I'll try the oil on the next container that is being stubborn.

Yuki87 In reply to SJFan97 [2014-07-03 14:44:41 +0000 UTC]

These rhinestones look like little peacocks and come in different colors. I really like to use them!
Did I mentioned that I buy most of my rhinestones (except those) from China? There are so many rhinestones or gems or beads and whatnot, just for nailart and decoden. I wish I could buy it all at once.

Oh I would love to see the roses used for decoden! If you need some more, just let me know.

SJFan97 In reply to Yuki87 [2014-07-09 18:37:22 +0000 UTC]

They sound so pretty! I was going through the craft store
and found a few rhinestones. I don't think any of them were
as small as yours, but at least I know where to buy some if I
every feel like putting rhinestones on something.

Ok, thank you!!

Yuki87 In reply to SJFan97 [2014-07-10 15:31:24 +0000 UTC]

I put a wheel of these small rhinestones in your box. I think there are 10 or 12 colors in it and maybe you'll find a use for them. I also added some store bought clay roses and the peacocks I was talking about.

I bought the silicone and found some really cool
sandal gem things. The are supposed to be glued
onto sandals, but the look like they would be
perfect as decoden charms! Although I haven't tried
to pipe it yet. I'll tell you how it works out when I do!!

I think I know these sandal gems! I never thought about using them for decoden, but you're totally right! They're probably great for that! Now I want to decorate something myself.
I'm looking forward to see what you're going to do with the silicone and the gems!

I saw it and it's so beautiful! You've done a great job! I think I asked you already but I'm not sure...what kind of Silicone did you used?

Lately I haven't worked any further on my phonecase, but I wont forget about it!

Thank you!! I'm not sure what it's called...will this link work? www.walmart.com/ip/Dap-Alex-Pl…
This is the silicone I used. It was really hard for me to get any out. My hands hurt so bad afterwards!
I also didn't get it to look right when I first put it on the lid, so I smoothed it out (kind of) but made sure to
still give it a lot of texture.

If you forget, I'll make sure to remind you a lot! I really want to see it when it's done.

Yuki87 In reply to SJFan97 [2014-08-22 16:14:21 +0000 UTC]

Ah yes, thank you for the link! We don't have that kind of silicone here in tubes. Only in cans where you need a pistol (at least it looks like it) for. My dad needs to press it out because I'm not strong enough.
I love how you smoothed it but without loosing the special texture!

Okay, I try to have it finished soon!

This one is really hard to use too. As soon as I started I regretted
using it, but when I started the decorating part I had so much fun.
Thank you!

I'm looking forward to seeing it!

Getting the silicone on was the hardest part here too. But when it's on and you come to the good part, the decorating, then it's fun again!

SJFan97 In reply to Yuki87 [2014-09-02 13:45:36 +0000 UTC]

It's so much fun with the decorating! I'm not a very patient person, though.
When is came to letting the silicone dry, I had such a hard time. I just wanted
to touch it and look at it! And I even got the fast drying stuff!

Yuki87 In reply to SJFan97 [2014-09-04 15:17:47 +0000 UTC]

Just like me! I hate waiting. With nail polish, with silicone, with cookies to cool out at least enough so I can bite into them. It's horrible. You don't want to know how much silicone I got on my hands from trying if it was dry already!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SJFan97 In reply to Yuki87 [2014-09-09 16:33:12 +0000 UTC]

Oh nail polish. I have the worst time with nail polish...I even get the nail polish
that dries in a shorter amount of time.
I don't make pies and cookies that often, but I almost always eat one when they are still
soft, gooey, and burning hot!

Yuki87 In reply to SJFan97 [2014-09-13 15:09:48 +0000 UTC]

Same here, I also opt for the quick dry nail polish, but if you add another layer it takes forever (okay, five minutes) for it to dry.

I loooove gooey cookies. Hot and soft and sweet and....*goes off to put a cookie into the micro wave*
