Italy is terrified because of all the images of terror that he saw during the war. He starts to have nightmares, and then Germany comes to him all concerned, and just holds him because there's nothing else he can think to do.

Originally my inspiration for the pose and emotions that comes from it, was
from a RP i had. in wich Feli was afraid to lose germany because of a big dramatic story
and fight and stuff XD so what you wrote sort of look like it in a way!With
Germany that isn't quite sure how to calm him down and just hold him close, shy and blushing a little~

Haha. They say a picture is worth 1000 words, and I can sometimes come up with good stories because I'm a fanfic writer! 
RP's serve as great art inspiration. I know that I even wrote spin-off fanfics based on a couple of mine. O:
Germany has always been a little awkward with emotions, hasn't he? Unlike Italy, who is perfectly open with his feelings. Maybe a little too open since he's dressed up like a soldier and expected to fight.
I can easily see Italy/Feliciano as a tragic character. He was carefree, young, perky, but forced to fight in the war by his boss, and after the war was over it emotionally breaks him and he has all the symptoms of shell-shock. 
About your art: Yes, I do enjoy it. I would love to see more.
I actually don't mind pairing pics as long as it's not sexual.

oh my god, i totally see italy the same way! also, Hidekaz did describe him as "emotional" he said that feliciano was sometime intense when it came to emotions. but i can't remember where i read that XD
maybe that's also why there are so many yandere!feliciano things. (which i really love actually)
for sexual drawing, meeeeh, i had a time i did draw those... but... but... ugh, i don't enjoy drawing those. i mean, i started being kinda pissed off when asked to draw that kind of stuff. XD soo... yeah. i totally stopped doing so now.
