“It really was a good idea to go out today”, Kurt said, reaching for Blaine’s hand and holding it while they were walking through the park.

His smile was bright and since it was a weekday, there weren’t that many people outside and the few who were didn’t care about the young couple enjoying the cold day. The air smelled like snow, and it really was about time, since it already was the 6th of December and it still hadn’t snowed yet.

“Don’t you just love the way no one harasses us? This is how…” Blaine left the sentence unfinished, staring up at the overclouded sky.

He let go of Kurt’s hand, almost unconsciously, walking a few steps ahead and turning around so he was still facing his boyfriend, and started to walk backwards. His face was relaxed, a huge smile spread across it.

Still, Kurt was curious.

“,This is how‘ what exactly, Blaine?”

Blaine stopped walking, and Kurt stepped up to him, wrapping his arms lightly around Blaine’s waist, pulling him forward so that their faces were almost touching.

“Is this how you imagine the future? Not only the world being more accepting, but also… well, us?”

He made it sound like a question, and Blaine finally closed the small distance to kiss him. He let his lips linger, purely enjoying the softness of Kurt’s lips against his, this calm moment before he opened his eyes again and pulled back a little to answer.

“Us. First and foremost us. I know I’m being extremely silly romantic right now, but –“

“Oh shut up already” Kurt cut in, pulling him back in again, pressing their mouths together.

He let his tongue slide against Blaine’s bottom lip, and his mouth fell open, their tongues moving together for a moment. Blaine leaned back, a look of happiness on his face. They were completely lost in each other‘s eyes, not noticing the world around them.

“You’re not silly, and you know I love your romantic side, so don’t ever apologize, okay?”

“Okay.”

Blaine laced their fingers together, and as he turned, they noticed how tiny snowflakes started falling from the sky. Immediately, he turned back to Kurt, the biggest grin Kurt had ever seen on his face.

“Oh my god, that’s absolutely perfect, isn’t it, Kurt? The first snow this year and we’re out here to enjoy it!”

Kurt smiled, nodded and, squeezing Blaine’s fingers, continued walking while the snow peacefully fell from the sky, turning the world around them into a quiet winter wonderland.
