Titanic was well and truly sinking. Passengers swarmed up the deck towards the stern and what few lifeboats hadn’t been launched yet.
Anna, still bewildered and terrified, trudged up the slanting deck. She gripped the bulwark to keep her balance as the tail was dragged higher and higher. The steel beams and plates holding Titanic together began to rumble and groan, as if the ship itself was crying at the pain. The lights flickered as water found its way into their wires.
A rocket exploded overhead, showering Titanic in colorful balls of light.
