Last year, when I got really into The Dragon Prince for a while, I started formulating a concept where I was a character in the show. What would I be? What would my role be in the plot? (And yes, this was mainly an excuse to ship myself with Runaan, and I'm not ashamed of that.)

So the idea ended up being thus: Nik is a servant in the castle of Katolis, which is dangerous for a half-elf. But Nik has spent his life hiding who and what he is from the humans around him. But when the king of Katolis is killed, and one of the Moonshadow assaassins is captured, Nik has to decide where his loyalties lie: with the humans that he's lived his life with, or with the magic of Xadia that courses through his blood?

As you can see by the smaller drawings, I hadn't yet decided what type of elf I wanted to be when I did this first concept. But I did love the idea of Nik having a birthmark that he has to cover up.
