Meeko, Meat Cart and Marble Brownie lay on the cool forest floor next to a slowly tricking stream. Above them loomed a great old tree, cast in magical hues of purple and blue with the rising morning sun. A nearby patch of bright pink-flowered trees filtered the light and gave the scene a beautiful glow.

“Let’s just stay here a while,” Marble announced. She rolled on her back and stretched out her paws, whole body arching as she rolled in the dirt. “I could do with a nap.”

Meeko huffed in impatience, “I want to get moving! I hear there’s a neat abandoned church in the middle of this place.” Her tail wagged at her own propositioned, and she whimpered a little at the other two to persuade them.

Infinite Darkness and Roach rounded the corner of the tree and met up with the lounging Tokotas. “What’s everyone just hanging around for?” asked Roach, bemused. Infinite Darkness shrugged and flopped down in the dog pile, not caring for the answer.

Meeko groaned at the bottom of the pile. “Guys, guyyyss … we’re meant to be exploring,” she implored, and made a long groaning noise in the back of her throat. Eventually, though, she fell asleep like the rest of them.
