Description Taken in Downtown Buffalo, New York. My city still utilizes most of its older buildings. They add a rich character and history to the city.

Reminds me quite a bit of downtown Nashua, NH! Older style architecture , nice!

Yep! This was once the hallmark of the Great Lakes region! This main street was the centre to what was at one time the 10th biggest city in the U.S. and one of the top 100 cities in the entire world!

That's amazing to think, 10th largest in the country! Impressive!

It's fallen to number 78 now. It's seen better days.

Still a great city! I think I only visited Buffalo once and being born just over the line in NJ, I'm surprised I haven't visited more! I have much Family in NY although I don't see them often. Some, for years!

NJ is a good 300+ miles away, I can understand if you haven't been here more often! In all reality, the city is only now starting to improve after almost 100 years of disaster. We are still the 3rd poorest city in the U.S., and the 11th most violent. There is a lot that needs to be done to fix this city, but it is finally getting some positive attention. It will take decades to completely come around, but it will hopefully make those strides. This picture came from one of the only good districts in the city. The East, West, and South districts are in complete shambles, with crime through the roof and the infrastructure disintegrating more and more every year. The improvements have only hit the Waterfront, Theatre district, Elmwood Village, and Museum district for the most part, and the real problem areas are still pretty bad. So if you do find yourself here, stay close to those districts.

Yes, NJ is a haul from there, definitely! When I was younger we'd travel around here and there....philly, spots in NY and so on, it was then it would have happened more than likely. Yeah, there must be a few rough areas there!

Yeah, but I hope they will improve eventually! I get the travel, I have gone to many places as well.
