I recently watched new episode of Star Wars (it was great woahh) and immediately became Kylo x Rey trash.What even... The tension beetween this two was great and sensible
I don't think they're related bc reasons:
- she's rather not the daughter of Han and Leia - I know the story of Jacen and Jaina, but in this case, it would be scripted totally different and I think that Leia - even if Solo not - would sense some connection with Rey, just like Skywalker twins did in the original trylogy.
- I don't think that she's a doughter of Luke also, I find him as wise, old mentor, keeping strict Jedi rules. No marrying, no children. I'm aware of Mara Jade being, but remember that EU is not canon anymore. Moreover, do you really think that Luke would leave his doughter on some desert planet, knowing of her pain and longing for family? (Jedi can sense feelings of other people)
- granddoughter of Obi Wan... why and what for? Can't we have a character not related with main heroes at once?
but everything in SW universe can happen, so... we'll see in 17 months!

I think Rey is born of the force like Anakin. She must have had a strong force signature and was in danger of being discovered (by the First Order?) and so meant to be hidden on Jakku for a while. It also could be that her guardians didnt want to repeat Anakins history by her developing a familial bond and thus leading to the Dark side. They may have been killed before rescuing her.

I do believe that Luke Skywalker did get married and he did have two sons. But I do not believe that Rey is Luke's daughter. I do believe that Rey does have some connection to the Skywalker family. I made up a story about Elena Griffith, Rey's mother, became good friends with the Skywalker/Amidala family. When Elena was 20 years old she met them when they were doing a play on stage or on screen. The name of the play was called Snow White and the Huntsmen. Elena played the part of the stepmother. One day when Elena saw Anakin Skywalker hugging Luke and Leia, it brought Elena to tears. Anakin asked Elena, "Why are you crying, child?" Elena responded, "I wished my father would hug me the way you hug your children." Anakin and Padme told her that she needs a hug and they hugged her, too. Elena said to Anakin, "You are the father I never had." This made a big strong man like Anakin break down and cry. That was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Although I get weirded-out by this (considering they might be related and I don't want to be like those folks who shipped Luke/Leia long ago before 'Return of the Jedi' came out), they still seem quite appealing together. I have to see that movie.

Read the book. Seriously. Chapter 15 Snoke calls Kylo Ren out and says he holds compassion for Rey. And Kylo Ren's response? "No-never. Compassion? For an enemy of the Order?" Telltale sign of a lie...repeating one's self or using the words of the question posed to them, as well as posing questions in response of a question. Snoke rebuked him, saying it isn't her strength making him fail, but his weakness and Kylo Ren didn't protest anymore. Also...while in the interrogation room, he spoke gently with her at first, and he had her unrestrained her from the interrogation chair. Those kind of actions would make anyone wonder.

She needs to be a Skywalker. All Skywalkers have incredible force potential, and she clearly showed it. I believe she's one of the following:
* Luke's illegitimate daughter. The "no dating" plays a part in Anakin turning to the dark side, and Luke might not know that. Her mom left while pregnant, and Luke never knew he had a kid. That's why he hasn't come to get her...he doesn't know she's her daughter or even exists
* Anakin Skywalker reincarnated, given a new chance at life. Explains that power in the force, and no-one said he couldn't reincarnate. Maybe it was Snoke(who's probably Plagueis) who did it. Maybe that's why her parents wanted to hide her
* Palpatine's descendant. Oh, you honestly don't think Palpatine wouldn't use his powers to get laid? Though if she has Skywalker blood, she's probably a Palpatine since I bet you 7/10 that Palpatine is Anakin's dad
* Anakin's sister...kind of. If Darth Plagueis is Snoke, maybe he tried to create another Anakin?

About the no marrying thing, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the expanded universe has Luke do away with that rule. And that is a decision I am 100 percent on board with, so God help Luke if he does bring it back in this version. I do agree that he and Rey are probably not related; given how long he's been in hiding, he probably never got the chance to marry.
Seriously, Kylo Ren and Rey have great chemistry. It's creepy, yes, but so great. It's certainly better than the painful sit we'll all have to endure when she and Fin start trying to develop their "relationship", so I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

I love this! Very nicely drawn. The panels crack me up because they perfectly represent my thoughts/impressions while watching the movie. When Kylo Ren bridal carried Rey through the forest, it struck me as odd because there was a level of proximity/intimacy that belied the outward conflict of the two characters. The scenes between Poe and Kylo Ren, for example, would have been much different had Ren treated Poe the way he did Rey.
In the interrogation scene, there was an immediate connection that carried through the rest of the interactions between Ren and Rey. Despite outward opposition, there seemed to be a very interesting dynamic established and, on Kylo Rens part, he seemed to have his own agenda with Rey and seems genuinely curious about/interested in her. You portrayed this dynamic very well in each panel. While Rey is outwardly fierce and resistant, there is an underlying flirtation to Kylo Rens words and body language. I
have seen discussion of them being related and, while I respect other peoples opinions, I tend to disagree because the dynamic/interactions established suggest otherwise. Whether these two end up together is anyone's guess, but I definitely believe there is something special about their connection that will be explored further in subsequent films. Sorry for the novel, lol! These two have provoked a lot of thought and emotion in me.
