For scratch, this is really impressive, did you do this just from shapes and without line art? o-o

Well I made a rough sketch of room's perspective and some basic shapes, and then that was painted over

None of the ones i've been on have been all that dark. Except during a casualty. Or in the control room if we were navigating on or near the surface at night.

Movie subs are fond of mood lighting, but we always liked to see what we were doing.

I actually kinda liked the lighting effects. They were the second things i noticed. You can clearly see the sources and the shadows and so on. Very homey. You do well to capture the mood of the spaces on a naval vessel. It feels very real.

The details, though...
The first thing i noticed was the room. Submarines are not very roomy. The hull is the smallest size they can cram all the equipment into, and the space for people to move around is almost an afterthought. the distance you have from the ladder to what looks like an air reducing station? That should be less than the distance from the ladder to the wooden crates on the deck.

Third thing i noticed is that if this was my sub, i'd be screaming at people. We do NOT leave stuff laying about. Our stow-for-sea takes into account that the submarine behaves like a pig on the surface, stuff rocks horribly.
And after we dive, the ship could be put at almost any angle. Stuff slides. There's not a lot scarier than seeing a full tool box or a copier come off the counter and start sliding down the deck at your dumb bunny butt.

So. Mood great, lighting fantastic, details show a lack of experience with subs, but that describes most of the planet, really.

Well, wow.. such experienced comment Honestly I've never been on submarine, all I know about them - few reference photos I've googled so the equipment here "is a stub"
As soon as this pic is a testwork, I was asked to make a fairy-tale look of an sub and some crew's belongings, but this sketch seemed too real for them.
Anyway, thank you much for your attention

Nice, but I think it needs somework to be done on shading. Submarines are generally quite dark places, you know

мерси)) надеюсь, не потеряю заказ, тут немного не попал в требуемую стилистику и буду переделывать.
Но картинкой я вполне доволен
