Wouldn't a silouette be just the outer lines of a subject that define it's shape against the background (and not depending on where the light is positioned)?

No, I guess you're right. Wikipedia defines as 'a view of an object or scene consisting of the outline and a featureless interior' This [link] would be a silhouette, and its not light dependant. Hell its not even a photo!

This image is absolutely WONDERFUL. I love the simplicity, and the elegance. There is some very nice detail, and some contrast that really gives the image focus and depth. You did an excellent job with clarity, and focus as well. I like the way its cropped lengthwise, great eye for that!! Keep up the good work. Definatley +fav!
