This was a commission done by socij on tumblr for my fic, Free My Soul, on fanfiction. I like the idea of Soul helping post-manga Crona overcome his past by teaching him to focus on the good things in life, a la music, Soul's personal area of expertise.Related content

I want to say that I'm a huge fan of both your drawings and fanfics regarding crona. Recently I've had some headcannon ideas for a fanfic I'm wanting to write regarding Crona's return and what happens afterwards. I know you stopped writing fanfics awhile back but I was wondering if your interested and have the time I could get your opinion on some of the ideas I have.

1) first off the only way I see Crona getting rescued is with the black blood. Because Soul does not have the black blood anymore he and Maka won't be able to rescue him the same way
2) based on my interpretation Crona is currently living as a disembodied Soul similar to those people trapped in the Mad blood in Moscow and Ukraine this means that there need to be some way to give him a body I figured that's one of the things you could do with Brew would be to take someone's DNA and essentially create a clone body so long as you have the knowledge and Technology to do so what's more I figured the same could be done with those people trapped in the mad blood. I figured that if you can somehow transport those Souls within the Mad blood into new clone bodies based on Medusa possession they would be able to take on there original forms and have their own unique DNA contained in their souls as a way to avoid inbreeding
3) finally the person who would be able to do all of this would be in OC villain that I created. now this goes into quite possibly some Au stuff but I figured that this character would be Cronus father and Medusa's real child whereas Crona is her grandchild that's not to say I don't believe Medusa could really do that kind of stuff to her own child but from a logical standpoint it just doesnt make sense why through all that effort. Anyway My OC who I named Draco is the child of Medusa and Noah and one of Medusa's first attempts to create a kishin not long after the dwma is first established the experiment is thought to be a failure and Medusa and Noah give the child up and sell him into slavery at a young age. However he finds out later the experimentations gave him the power to drain the memories knowledge personality and abilities of humans meisters and magical beings soul permanently without actually consuming the soul similar to Rogues ability from X-Men
those are just some of the ideas ive got more but i dont wanna overload you just yet so what do you think

Those are pretty good ideas, logically consistent and whatnot. Not sure though about the idea of Noah and Medusa having a kid, though. Still I do like the idea of the OC villain.

thanks for the advice yeah maybe I'll just go ahead and say that they either abducted or found him as a heck I might even make him just Medusa son and his father's dead or something either way I always got the impression that those two knew each other by more than just reputation maybe it was a partnership to where they both had something to gain but they eventually turned on each other

It's possible. I can certainly see Medusa wanting to have a child with Noah for experimentation purposes and such, but Noah's motive would take a little more stretching.
I also think having Draco be a sibling of Crona's is a good idea. After all, it's not too much to think that Medusa might have had more than one attempt to create a Kishin. Perhaps he escaped from her at some point?

Well I always figured that there would be two motives, Noah's and the table of contents. Noah would create a being that he originally thought could consume, therefore become everything and the table of contents, the true mastermind behind everything, would see him as a way to spread and expand his knowledge.
And yeah I know for some it raises a few red flags for some but I wanted the character to be related to Crona cause well in all honesty besides Maka and her friends who would really have a motivation for rescuing him besides to obtaining his power. Don't get me wrong that one of the reasons Draco frees him but the other is that he sees Crona as the only family he has left.

Good point might just ditch the whole Medusa and Noah child thing. That's always been the hard part, getting the details of Draco's past. I do want to keep some constants such as some kind of history with Medusa (maybe he's her son, maybe she just found him at a young age, maybe she a former associate who taught him magic, etc.) and Noah (maybe he's a demon tool soldier similar to Gopher, maybe he was just a normal kid experimented on and given those powers), he was once an ally turned major threat to both the DWMA and the witches, preferably not long after the DWMA got started, he has some kind of family bond with Crona (father, brother) and he's an example of someone trying to take order or "justice" too far (he could be one of the rulers the Great One of Power tested and I recall Stein talking about systems set up by Kings for their own self interests so that could play into his true motivations and underlining goal). Like I said these are all just ideas so maybe I'll use them maybe not. I'm just glad you were willing to hear me out and give your opinion on some of them

Well, I can share some headcanons I wrote down, if you like.

Anyways, the main issues in rescuing Crona as I see it are (1 getting past the mad blood, (2 separating Crona from Asura, and (3 (the biggest issue) keeping Asura contained.
(1 is pretty easy (IMO). I figure that since mad blood is basically like super madness enhanced black blood, something like a super strengthened version of Maka anti-demon wavelength could cause it to recede, temporarily, at least. Maybe have Soul use a radio to play his piano music to large crowd of people, thereby transmitting it (since we’ve seen how music can be used to resonate souls) and strengthening it enough to do a stronger version of the kishin-hunter attack.
Besides that, there are various possible teleportation methods, like spatial magic, if they can find some way to keep it from being disrupted by the madness (perhaps using Maka’s wavelength as a sort of filter).
Another idea I had was to use a remaining page from the Book of Eibon as a sort of tether so that they could create a magical link between the Book and the page and use that to pull Crona out of the blood and Asura.
Then there’s the idea of using Excalibur (assuming you can find someone who can wield him, and persuade that person to help you) to just cut through space and yank them out. Though, any idea involving Excalibur is likely bound to be rather silly.
Anyways (2 (separating Asura and Crona) is also pretty easy. Taking into account that some of my “get past the blood” ideas already answer that question, I see nothing preventing them from simply using Soul’s music sheet to pull Crona out.
Then there’s the idea of showcasing how powerful Black Star has by having him simply punch a whole through Asura and yank Crona out by hand. (Or Crona could force their way out after hearing Maka calling for them.)
Oh boy, (3 is the trickiest. Keeping Asura sealed.
The most plausible idea is to have Mabaa regain her eye to boost her power and then power up with Brew to create a permanent independent cube. I figure she’d do this as a gesture of good will to Kid, plus she might find leaving Crona up there to be somewhat dishonorable (if that’s how she thinks).
Other ideas include keeping the current seal by having either the Black Mass or Excalibur take Crona’s place (since neither of them would be bugged by the solitude and the mental picture of Excalibur bugging Asura is funny). I guess, if I had to speculate on possible motives for them doing this (since they’d need a reason), maybe Excalibur would do it as a way of keeping his word to Lord Death about looking after Kid or the Black Mass might see it as a way of atoning for his role in Asura’s fall.
Then there’s the idea of Crona overtaking Asura and using mad blood to trap him in their body (at the cost of becoming immortal by sharing a body with Asura and always having stay sane). As ProMa points out, it has already been done by Crona when mad. I guess the main difference is that Crona’s doing it in a sane state and as an act of willpower, rather than submission to madness, so it’s less unstable, though it still largely depends on Crona’s mental strength.
We also have another Excalibur idea (Don’t you love em? lol). Perhaps having someone like Maka’s mom or Wes use Excalibur to cut a hole and space and time and imprison Asura there. Again, as ProMa said, it’s more of a comedic idea than you’d want in this sort of situation. On motive for Wes or Maka’s mom, I kind of figure that it’s something they’d do as a favor to their loved ones, (e.g. Maka’s mom would want to make Maka happy, and freeing Crona would be a way of doing that).
I also came up with the idea that, during the time on the moon, Crona convinced Asura to stay and maintain his own seal, since he’s now in a place where he doesn’t have to deal with others or anything much else he fears.
Lastly, we have my favorite containment method. Using samples of black blood (assuming that the DWMA have samples of Crona and Soul’s black blood), they create their own clowns, similar looking to Medusa’s purple dye clown, and engineer them to fuse with Asura (since Medusa’s clowns can do “madness fusion” and they need something that can merge with Asura), feed on Asura’s madness power and act as magnets for the mad blood. The way it works is that the more Asura draws on his madness powers to escape his prison, the stronger the clown’s ability to bind him becomes. Symbolically, it’s like his own fear is trapping him. (Appropriate no?)

Wow these are very interesting. I agree separating Crona and Asura is easy since Maka was able to do it but Crona chose to stay to seal Asura in order to protect Maka and the others.

Well I imagine he'd still carry many of his traits like his timidity and negativity. But he'd also be grateful and loyalty to how far his friends were willing to go for him. Kid would pardon him of his crimes since they never could've stopped Asura without him. And then he'd likely join Spartoi and serve DWMA

Well he'd still have Ragnarok for starters but also some of medusa's magic since he ate her soul and learned those rose powers. Also there's his third eye so he could likely use controlled madness like Stein

That's pretty cool sounding. I always headcanoned that he'd get new powers (as a result of soaking in energy from Brew and the Book of Eibon) and get the ability to either increase or deplete someone's soul wavelength. Like, he's a living version of BREW.
