Description POD: The story of Lilith degrades slightly before the First Council of Nicea in 325 AD leading to a theological debate over the "First Mother." A number of Female Bishops at the council, and many men, argue that Lilith who was far more assertive and wanted to be treated as Adam's equal was the first Mother of mankind, not Eve who was far more submissive. These bishops were eventually removed, but went on to found Lilithian Christianity, separate from Roman Catholicism and exiled to Ethiopia.

In 615 when a number of Muslim Converts flee Mecca for Ethiopia they are amazed to see the society founded under Lilithian Christianity; it is one where women are treated equal to men in every way: They can own property, participate in government, and can even petition for divorce. The society is also much more productive than a similarly sized patriarchy as a result of having the whole population instead of just half being allowed to study and work.

The Prophet is eventually contacted by these converts and amends the Quran with many of the texts of Lilithian Christianity, changing Genesis, adding the Gospel of Eve along side the Gospel of Mary.

By 1300 AD the Islamic Caliphate has receded, but their conquered territory of Granada, now independent, has become a troublesome thron in the side of the Roman Catholic Church. Having become a modern nation state, Granada trades openly with the rest of Europe, and Muslim philosophy has driven many Catholic women to either convert or demand equality in the Church. The Pope orders that the Inquisition be broadened to include "Unfaithful," women.

1434: China lands on the West coast of the New World.

1439: The Malleus Maleficarum drives countless European Women to Granada or to the Ottomans. Some take refuge in Aquitaine where the inquisition is unofficially out of practice.

1492; Magdallan Explorer Qadr Abbasi becomes the first Western explorer since the Vikings to discover the new world.

1559: Magdalla's armada is defeated by Granada establishing their dominance over the Mid-Atlantic.

1619: The Granadan Abbasian colony of New Medina is established.

1755: The Granadan colonists revolt against the Granadan Sultan, declaring independence as the United Abbasian Emirates.

1861: Kanada (a Catholic Nation) declares war on the UAE, over their claim to the Kalifornia territory. The Kanadians loose after five years of bloody conflict. The deciding factor is attributed to a more readily available population of soldiers thanks to their large number of male and female volunteers.

1912: War breaks out in the Mediterranean between France, Mercia, the Ottomans and Granada. The UAE sends what little troops it can to help, but is largely stuck in a war on its own border.

1919: The Global Jihad (Great War in Europe) ends after troops from the People's Republic of Hongxi's long range bombers make a surprise attack on the Kanadian capitol of Boston. The UAE launches an invasion the next day and captures the Kanadian capitol forcing Prime Minister Robert Borden to surrender, recalling Kanadian troops from Europe and allowing the Coalition to force a settlement.

1951: French Chancellor Charles Krieger invades Aquitaine starting WWII, or the Second Great Jihad.

1960: The UAE drops Atomic bombs on Tornto and Detroit, ending the war in Abbasia.

2011 AD: Kandian politicians sign the New Alexandria Compact in the UAE, joining the Abbasian Union after years of abstention from the western hemisphere's main trading block.

I'm very impressed, especially with the timeline.. Hope you'll do more with the timeline such as an alternative Cold War.. That'd be sweet!

I'm muslim and i'm not amused, you will investigate of a religion before writting about it(not to say the theological side who is pure ASB), but still nice effort.... but still please study a religion before write about it

I have studied Islam, and I have chosen to make an alternate timeline where it developed along different tenants than it did in OTL. So, I'm not quite sure what your problem is.

I used a large base map that included rivers and national borders and just ran with that. I don't use .png maps like this anymore, mostly because they don't allow for as much detail as a custom map.

When I first heard about the Muslim thing for divorce in grade school I thought it was a reasonable thing. Until I realized what happened to divorced women and how quick marriages and divorces where used to cover up prostitution when men went to visit holy sites.
