gennaio, january in italian (i hope)

i was originally going to name her juana, which is Etruscan for door. the reason behind it is that the roman god for january is janus - god of gates and doors. i was signed up for a little project to draw pictures representing the elements and months, i got january. although i wanted october, my birth month. but this let me know a little more about january...whenever i get sucked into mini projects i tend to do research on them

so in the background there are 3 doors, the one of the left has a gold door knocker for beginning(birth), the middle door is middle(life), and the last door with the grayish door knocker is for end (death). the clocks just show the passing of time. the goat on the bottom left represents capricorn - with the zodiac symbol and on the bottom right is some water representing aquarius with it's zodiac symbol.
the flowers for january are a snow drop, which can be seen on the left side under the beginning door, and the carnation which is the orangish slashed across the background. there are also fireworks in the background to represent new years eve . The girl -- the main focus -- wears blackish/gray, white, gold, and deep red/brown

the deep red brown colors ANYWHERE in this picture represent the birthstone of january - garnet, which is also the stone around gennaio's neck
there are also snowflakes on parts of her clothes/kimono to represent snowfall cause january is a cold snowy month....depending on where you are xD
