It makes a nice change for someone to go to the original idea for Morrigan when Capcom created her as part of the plan for a fighting game using movie monsters. Back then, Felicia was the sexy one: Morrigan was more cute and almost child-like. Then, some point before making the sprites: they decided to swap the two so Felicia became more of a cute and fun character where Morrigan became more sexy. if you use her Hard Punch where she turns her wings into spikes, yup one is like a tail and with how her outfit is made of bats it isn't too hard to imagine her making a tail often xD
