Description
This is a drawing I've been working on for about a week just to relieve stress from the university...I just really wanted to draw Link in this setting and I'm really looking forward to Skyward Sword. Alas I've been busy and some classes just demotivate me so much...

It's always good to watch speed paints, you pick up a few things. I only tried Sai for a little bit but I just use openCanvas to draw and color.

!Nice work! , he's missing an eye though and his left arm is a lot shorter than it should be, so he looks a little deformed, but you are improoving, keep it up.

oh he's not missing an eye, I did that on purpose. It's something that happens a lot in anime, I'm aware it's weird and I probably should have shaded that part darker...

why not just do the eye and done!, because it happens in an anime dont mean its the correct way to do it, if you can see that part of his face and his eye is missing, the piece is unfinished.

*sigh* It's a matter of style, that was the original idea so that's how I wanted it to look. The piece is finished to me because it's exactly how I wanted it to look regardless of what you think. If you don't like it or agree with the way I did it you don't have to look. As for the other stuff on the anatomy that's just more practice, this particular eye thing was a matter of preference so I won't accept it as critique.

OH Well! suit yourself! im really sorry that you cant take good advise, ive been in the art bussines for 15 years and if i where you i would take art just as a "hobby" couse you aint getting to far in the bussines with that childish attitude, thanks for the lesson though, i wont loose more time looking at your amateurish work, good luck youll need it.

Sorry to butt in, but since when does art have rules? finding a correct/incorrect way to do things? If so Picasso was a serious violator of said rules and should have been stoned to death lol. Anyway, I completely understand critique in anatomy, about the arm and such, but to actually fight about a detail she WANTED in her drawing is just flat out retarded. You sound like Squidward

Well yes, art is just a hobby to me because I'm actually studying something completely different. And what I was trying to say is that this is a matter of style which I usually use anime style and I notice you work more realistic stuff and western style so that was just a preference. I don't mind critique but when I say that particular thing about the eye was just a style you can't just tell me it's wrong, because it IS how I wanted it (it has to do with something about a dramatic effect and I'm sure all the anime fans that watch my work will understand what I was trying to convey). I do appreciate the stuff about the anatomy though (at least you were more specific in this drawing than another one in which you said it was just weird without explaining why) and that is really a matter of practice in my part so I'll keep it in mind.
