Age 3

Hasani was a brat, he was born that way. He drove his parents crazy since he almost never held still. He had a faternal twin brother Shari who was born along with him as most meerkats are that he often playfully squabbled with. But mostly they just got into all kinds of trouble. Mischevious and curious Hasani loved his parents and his brother and loved pushing their buttons even more.

Age 7

Growing up in a meerkat colony and being the youngest of his family unit Hasani was a rambunctious brat who got away with more then Shari did. He expanded his network of people when he was old enough at the age of 5 to attend Meerkat Classes. This was a community thing set up to usher children into the roles they woudl play in life. test and trials were run to gauge their skills and abilities and in the end Hasani qualified to take up a first responder position. A very highly ranked place that he was quite proud of. His brother took a less important one and was placed as a watch on the side no one ever worried about since it was up against a wall. More or less he was given a crap job.

But that wasn't all that happened in his childhood. He made lots of friends and managed to make one nemeis in Lamia. Back then she was a scrawny, funny looking red-head that he and his friends picked on relentlessly. But she did fight back despite the out numbered odds and as they grew older it became more of an agitated banter bewteen the two of them, each sides friends gave up getting any words in. Both of them had gained the first responder position so throughout their classes they butted heads at every turn, always looking to one up the other. Hasani excelled with a stick and dagger, whle Lamia was effective with thrown darts and progectiles which meant they often got paired on assignmennts and missions. While they argued and squabbled Hasnai's brother wallowed in what he felt was misfortune and neglect.

Age 16

Somewhere in the midst of one of their more heated arguments Hasani was startled to find that the girl he'd been harassing since they'd met had grown into quite a pretty girl. Not just pretty of course, but smart, funny and she could beat him up more times then he cared to admit. He kept it to himself at first though, refusing to admit it. Their squabbles died down a bit as he tried to fight off his conflicting emotions. But the more he tried to ignore it the worse it got. As he reflected on their lives he was forced to realize he'd never been interested in other girls. Probably because Lamia had always been there. But knowing she hated him he shoved the feelings down as best he could.

Obviously he failed, but he had no idea how to go about wooing a girl he'd been harassing for the better part of his life. So after weeks of failed attempts to carry on as usual he did the only thing his poor mind could think of and kissed her in the middle of one of their usual arguments. She punched him a second later and told him to never come near her again and after that it was on. He was at her hole in the mornings offering her flowers and trying in vain to serenade her which got things thrown at him. Ducking his school duties to follow her around and more or less being the loudest, most obvious stalker anyone had ever seen. But he was also adorable about his onesided courtship. Leaving her silly, badly written notes and offering to carry her things. The poor things was smitten and there wasn't much anyone could do but shake their heads.

Lamia resisted for a long time, but after a while his odd, but endearing charms won her over and she agreed to be his mate once they graduated. Turned out she'd had a thing fro him from the beginning but had thought he was only playing her for a fool. They were married at 18, the graduating age for most meerkats and ran off into a metaphorical sunset where they would squabble cutely, thrive in their jobs and raise a small litter of three adorable meerkat pups. No meerkat could ask for better.

Age 27

Years later Hasani has nothing left of his former life save his memories. His brothers jealousy and betrayal destroying everything he'd ever held dear in an instant. He lost a large piece of himself that hasn't and probably will never return. But life in Arhzung has helped him. He's made new friends with people he'd never imagined he would. Of course his past has left him scarred both physically and mentally. His wounds are an ever present reminder of what he's lost. And mentally he's easily spooked and frightened, and being a meerkat only makes it worse. But he's trying to get a hold of that problem.

He still hasn't fully recovered from that dreadful night five years prior. He hopes to overcome it one day, but knows he'll never be the same. He's still madly in love with his late wife and misses her and his children everyday. He knows she'd want him to move on and find happiness again, but for now, he's content to just watch other people. His soul is still too burdoned with guilt to allow him any kind of real solace.
