While the mother Allosaurus, Annemarie explores her paddock, she's tucked her two juveniles, Jackson and Allison in the shade for a bit of a nap. At 7.6ft long, 2.8ft tall at the hip, and clocking in at over 350lbs, these two 11-month-old babies* are already around or larger than some predators from the Morrison Formation like Stokesosaurus, Tanycolagreus, and Ornitholestes back in their former domain of Jurassic Wyoming. Within a few years, they'll be some of the most famous and powerful predators that ever walked the planet.

One of my favorite pics from the last part of Past Meets Present. I love making these images for PMP. A lot of people just like watching dinosaurs break out and kill everyone, but, in zoos, how often do you see that??? They just rest and lie around peacefully. I took inspiration from watching a juvenile Komodo Dragon basking in the sun a few years back.
