This piece is part of my AP Studio Art concentration portfolio. My focus is horses. Beautiful. I feel like you went a little heavy on the shadows in the hand, but overall the composition of the piece of gorgeous.

Thank you for the honest feedback and critique! When drawing it, I was worried that the overall lightness was overwhelming the piece, so I went perhaps heavier on the hand shadows than I should have.

Great! It's hard to get into those fine details with charcoal for me, but you seem to have it pretty well done.

Thank you! The thing I always keep in mind about charcoal is that it's best when you don't overwork it - I find that keeping it simple and not laying down toooo much black is often key in creating a balanced charcoal piece. Details are the very last thing I add, or else they'll just get messed up!
