It's the Nightbringer--technically an edda. It's both a 'creature' of mythology and reality.I'll write a better, detailed description tomorrow--I'm not supposed to be awake right now. e_e; *types very, very quietly*

Wow! That is such a cool design! It looks like more than one creature... of well. I bet it's two-headed or something like that.

Yeah, it's simply multi-headed. It's a shapeshifter of sorts, but the multi-winged, double-headed amphitere is its most favoured form. It's gaseous in composition, too, so its wings don't even make it fly--all for show.

Oooooo... That's very interesting, thank you! Shapshifters are spiffy. You said it was a mythological creature... does it have any specific name in mythology? Or is it just Nightbringer?

Well...I meant 'myhtological' more in the sense that it's 'mythological' for the universe in my head. e_e; Not sure if what I'm saying is making sense....
The Nightbringer isn't part of this Earth's various mythologies or religions, in other words. It's something I made up for my world. Similar to Ra's passage in the sky that created night and day in Egyptian mythology. Only..the Nightbriner brings the nighttime.
Theoretically, that is. Afthellafelle, like any planet, rotates, creating night and day--the Nightbringer is just an edda [guardian, not a 'god'] that flies around in space, usually in Afthellafelle's stratosphere. It often flies just 'behind/before' the sunsets and sunrises, and it can make itself spread out enough to appear to cover the entire sky--thus, why so many Afthellians attribute it to the cause of night.

Very, very very beautiful! If I could make one tiny suggestion, I wonder if the assymetry and line flow would show up a little bit better if the focal point was centered just a tad more to the right, though?

Love the colors and I love the more abstract and design-oriented portions of it. The shield-like concentration of energy above its head is a nice touch as well; much like a meteors entering the mesosphere and burning up, but in the opposite direction.

Mhm. Nice. I love that fading effect. The lights are very well done and the overall design is original and quite superb. Maybe looks a bit too bright for a nightbringer, but still very fine.

Wow! Oh my gosh, that's wonderful. It leans very close to being abstract. So much motion and light are conveyed- soaring upward together to the moons.
