Would this method work well in MedibangPro (Which is almost exactly like firealpaca)?

Sai has only standard round brush, therefore I recommend it)

How do you get your airbrush to be pointed like that at the end and beginning of the stroke?

Remiaro In reply to VesperKnight [2015-06-17 22:12:56 +0000 UTC]
You need a pressure-sensitive tablet for that, so something like a Huion, Monoprice, Turcom, or Wacom Intuos tablet. Yakovlev-vad uses the software Paint Tool Sai, so to configure your brush, go into Sai, pick whichever brush you want to modify, and then put "min size" all the way down to zero. The, when you draw with your tablet, you'll get nice, tapered lines.
You can do this in most art software (but not MS paint) and there are ways to get pointed lines in other software without needing a pressure sensitive tablet. If you have any other software, feel free to ask me about it!

Ah, I don't have a tablet, I need one, I would LOVE to draw on it, how much do drawing tablets usually cost?

Remiaro In reply to VesperKnight [2015-06-17 23:50:46 +0000 UTC]
The cheapest Huion is 30 dollars, but it's drawing area is around 4 x 2 inches so it's too small to draw with.
You're probably better off with a tablet that is 8 x 5 inches or higher. The cheapest 8 x 5 inch tablet that I know of is the Huion 580 which costs 50 dollars.
My tablet is 8 x 5 inches, and it's the Wacom Intuos pen and touch medium (NOT the pro model) which costs 200 dollars.
Huion is certainly good, but it's an odd little off brand that doesn't quite match up to Wacom. If you can afford it, I would recommended Wacom over Huion but if you can't, Huion is still viable.
If you want to get an even bigger tablet, Huion has a 10 x 6 tablet for 80 dollars and Wacom's Intuos Pro large (which is 13 x 8 inches) costs 500 dollars.
So here is a simplified price guide for you:
Huion 8 x 5 inch: 50 dollars. Huion 10 x 6 inch: 80 dollars. (they're a lot cheaper then Wacom, but as a trade off they're slightly lower quality. Shouldn't hamper drawing too much.)
Wacom Intuos pen and touch Medium (not pro model) 8 x 5 inch: 200 dollars.
Wacom Intuos Pro Medium (8 x 5 inch): 350 dollars. Wacom Intuos Pro Large (13 x 8 inch): 500 dollars. (the pro tablets are higher quality and come with a few extra features. They can detect the angle of pen tilt, and also the angle of rotation of your pen. This can make for some crazy brush settings in Clip Studio (also called manga studio 5) or Photoshop, but you don't even need it.)
I excluded the tablets that are labeled as "small", and anything below 8 x 5 inches because I found them just too small to draw on. Also, none of these tablets have a screen. This might seem alarming, but I have been using screenless tablets for a year and a half, and I love them! You'll need to practice with your tablet frequently for a few months to develop the eye-hand coordination needed to use them, but it's very much worth it. I really like drawing this way because my hands and arms do not cover up my drawing while I work.
The screen drawing tablets are really expensive. Wacom Cintiq is the only viable screen tablet (Huion's screen tablets have failed to catch up to wacom's screen tablets) and the cheapest one is 800 dollars.
Here is the wacom store:
store.wacom.com/us/ (Ignore everything under "for everyday" because they're not pressure sensitive, also ignore everything under "for business")
Here is the Huion store:
www.huiontablet.com/all-produc…
Hope this helps!

thanks, I have about 60 dollars on me right now, and I really want a Wacom but I might have to settle for a Huion
