Description Did someone say spring...? I hear it's a yearly event on the northern hemisphere at the moment... Wouldn't know anything about it myself since I've lived in the bloody tropics for the past 20 or so years! (Current temp about +30C, constantly...)

Anyways, my spring shaman holding birch branches and some pussywillows (that English name is a disgrace > in my native language they are called "willow-kittens").
His attire is my personal modification of the Sami costume.

Done on ClipStudioPaint Pro
The background shaman drum is from the depths of the internet, although re-drawn by me.

Nice work. Looks almost like a sort of old-school Sámi outfit.

Thank you, glad you like it. Although I do like the traditional Sami fashions, I'm not so terribly fond of their rather restricted colour palette (basically only bright red + bright blue + some green with some yellow).

It kind of depends on the Sami group, actually. I've seen black, white, grey and brown Sami dresses too.

Really? The ones I've seen from Northern Finland, Lapland, have been almost solely this red+blue combos. In some very old re-coloured black-and-white photos from the start of the century the outfits also had more brown and green, but not many.

Remember that most Sami people actually live in Norway, though, so logically there would be more variety here since there are more Sami groups here.

Yes, quite true.

He looks very good! Those de-saturated colours suit a person very well who's in league with nature. The shaman wheel in the background is a great idea. And I especially admire the boot. I find them so hard to paint. The folds here are just perfect.

Ah, feet... difficult to draw. I can draw feet quite well from a certain angle, but if that angle changes they become a nightmare to draw. A good rule to making folds on boots is to follow the curvature of the foot. You have to vision it in 3D.

They are "willow-kittens" in my language, too. I like his costume, looks very comfortable, and you did a good job at shading the fabric and the colourful embroidery.

Yes, the Sami costume looks very comfortable. Only thing is that it's usually very bright blue+red+yellow colour, which are not very appealing to my eyes, hence changed it to a more subdued grey with almost pastel ornamentation/decor.
