Description Every piece of art I make, is "practice" for me. Every time I make something, I try to make something new, or make old stuff but in a new way, or try new colour combinations, or try out new layering things... I always try to improve what I know and learn something more, something new I haven't tried before. While most of my art may look similar, as if nothing has changed, but there are things that I know I've do better now than, let's say, a year ago. Also, I cannot get away from my love for fancy patterns, especially "embroidery" type patterns. Often, after finishing a particularly enjoyable pattern, like the one in this pic, I want to make a picture that incorporates just that new pattern, simply to try it out and see its possibilities. And I do love me some good bling.

As always, done on my trusty ClipStudioPaintPro / ClipStudioPaint   with my Wacom tablet.
All patterns and whatnot are mine.

While I didn't plan for this lace to be used for a large sweeping sleeve, that's what it sort of fitted for when it was done, hence this pic was born.

Your attention to detail is incredible. I've never really even considered incorporating patterns into my artwork and it is mesmerising how well you pull that off. You're a true inspiration!

When I used to do traditional media, adding patterns was a real pain in the butt simply because it required so much preparation beforehand, and I really didn't have the patience to do that. But with digital media I can add and change things without losing everything else under those layers, and it gives so many possibilities when I have free hands to do whatever comes to mind.
Plus, I wouldn't be anywhere without Clip Studio's mesh transform tool.

Thanks for the tip! I might have to take a closer look at that mesh transform tool at some point!

The only thing that bothers me a bit, is the fact that she (and her attire) look a bit Russian. I try to avoid having any gowns/attire/clothing items have resemblance to any folk costumes, unless they're supposed to have it. This was NOT supposed to have a resemblance to anything, just me playing around with the golden lace I made prior.
