Description Well, here it finally is. The OverRider ATV Concept (nice name, huh?) - the ultimate all-terrain crossover vehicle. As you can see, I've tried to exaggerate both the 'street-car' and 'off-read' styles and merge them into one big, scary... thing...

Ok, now for some details:

When driving on asphalt, the suspension automatically lowers itelf so the body is about 5mm off the ground. When going off-road, the suspension is heightened to allow for more rough terrain, and the arms supporting the back axel section are pivoted downwards, raising the rear of the vehicle about 600mm. Off the road, the spikes on the 30" front wheels add leverage to the front-wheel-drive system, and also increases grip, enhancing the overall handling. The tyres are low profile, but they're...uh...special, so they're fine for off-road

In place of the typical, highly breakable headlights, there are four small high-powered 1000W halogen globes, similar to those used in studio lights. Unlike conventional headlights, they are safely tucked away in a recess, protected by the protruding front wheels.

The entire body of the vehicle is forged from hardened titanium alloy, and is no less than 10mm thick throughout. So as you can imagine, it's tough. It'll total about 50 hatch-backs and 25 sedans before you start to see any scratches

Naturally, the interior is leather throughout, has brushed metal trims, electric everything, 200-stack CD/MP3/DVD player, iPod attatchment, WiFi internet AND six beverage cup holders

All there really is left to say is that I had a great time creating this vehicle. Just to remind you, I didn't actually sketch or make any plans for this model, I created it entirely off the top of my head. Made it up as I went along... I think that's something to be proud of... Oh, and it took about one week of spare time from start to finish

Enjoy!

o.0 Holy Shit! That would be fucking weird to see on the road...or even off-road!
BUT I bet it would be super sweet to play with offroad...by the way you descibe it.

Those spikes would be GREAT for the roads in winter around me ^_^
I wish it was real.

here's my thoughts:

if you have any separate rear wheel suspension travel, the fin will snap.

it has an exceedingly high amount of freeboard (height of sides below windowline)

and wondering?

does it twist in the middle?
that would kick ass.

great art, over all. cool idea. i cant find the headlights, lol, and i love them rims.

Greetings, no doubt, the rendering and modelling is wow but i wish to highlight one little piece of observation from a ordinary citizen practical point-of-view. The body of this "car" seem to be too low to the ground. The car would be scratched or damaged beyond recoginition very soon. So, ya may wish to push it up in ya next revision.

Oh crap, apologies, i didn't notice the last frame that it *does* can "realign" itself up. My fault. But even tho, i still think that the car body's distance from the ground for on-road usage is rather low. Yep, that's all for my 2 cents.

I must say this is VERY impressive *is a 3D modeller himself* looking at the wireframe shot it really looks you put a lot of work into it ... other thing too, reminds me of one of the cars in the old Megarace game... awesome man *faves*

Bitchin car design, I wouldn't mind having something like that, the body kinda reminds me of a frog. I've got a question: why do car companies make all these really great concepts and prototypes, but then they just come out with the same old garbage?

Excellent work! It looks like it'd be fun.

Perhaps for the steering issue, the rear wheels turn instead of the front ones?

I do have one question. If it's 5mm above the ground, how would it go over steep hilltops? And if it hit even a small rock? It seems like it would get battered.

That's a really fun ATV though, nice job!

Ya know,if you put a small push bar bumber above the grill on the front and a large round bar 'bumper' from fender to fender on the back it would be an ideal on / off road vehicle and could become the car to use in NY or LA. LOL Looks outstanding.

very nice work, though the vehicle designer in me has to ask: 5mm clearance? and while the spoiler and scoops are almost a prerequisite for any sporty car today, even ones that dont go above 80mph, they seem a little out of place in this design, or at least unnecessary. those are just my gripes coming from someone who is planning on designing automotive components/vehicles for a career. all in all though very well done, especially not having a plan to go on before modelling it. i like it

It was actually a reference to The World is Not Enough, when that John Cleese guy wittily mentions that Bond's car has "six beverage cup holders". lol. Thanks, though

Brilliant idea for a concept car... it's sporty, it's stylish, it's all terrain: movie stars are gonna love it... I just hope it won't consume that much gas if it's ever gonna be made (unless it runs on a less polluting source of energy ). Hats off! ^^

Your description of the vehicle left me in awe...I really don't have much idea of what you said cause I have no idea about cars (pouts) Wish I did though...I'm starting to find it as such an interesting subject matter. Anyway, cutting this short, amazing job and congrats on the DD. You earned it my friend.
