It was once said that the violin is the epitome of the female figure. I can see why...
It's actually designed from the old compass and straightedge method that the Ancients loved.

Compass and straightedge? Man, they must've been really bored. XD

Lol. True. Of course, there wasn't much to do back then, so they had the time to chase perfection.

That's true. They had no TV. And no internet! *sob* It almost makes me cry just thinking of their miserable existence. Poor, poor ancient people. Let's have a moment of silence.

It's amazing how a typical teenager of this era could not survive for more than a week without technology.

This is perfect! I love the lighting, and yeah, the centering of the violin makes the picture. Very nice job.

Thank you!
You know, at first, I thought the violin's shape is overly ... cliche... you know? A while back, I searched for the most cliche'd instrument: the piano. Ech... There are some really nice ones though. Hehe.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Yea, music... practice.. Vital items, mm? Practice feels great, you know?

and/or exhausting. I have a shattered pinky on my left hand, and if I try to extend it the joint locks. So practise is 3/4 physical therapy at the moment. If I keep it up though, I'll probably be stronger than ever, and have improved technique. So yay that!

The centering of the violin really works. Breaking the rules at just the right times...
The lighting is just fantastic. Pristine, dramatic--in short, incredible. I like the silhouette-ing.

Here's my pitch on the rule of thirds. If your subject is looking directly into the camera, then it's ok to place your subject in the center, provided that there's nothing in the background to deal with. However, this is not usually the case. There's that line of vision that just begs for some room to live. Thus, we place it off to the side. Now, if your subject were looking perpendicularly to the camera, ie: my photograph /Pitiful/, then it could be placed to the sides. (Unless if one is dealing with a profile, then it's in the center) So it's like an arc of sorts. Your subject has to be facing perpendicularly to where-ever it is placed on that arc, you know? I suppose it's all about balance and/or symetry.

Oh WOW! Love this photo! When I was over at my friend Alkane's house this evening.....he looked at it. I remember my first words, well not even words being....Like,"uhhh....gooooo....wow!" HEHE! I love this! I play the violin as well! Such a pretty instrument, isn't it? You did a wonderful job showing how beautiful it can be. Just looking at the picture I get this feeling and emotion that it is being played at that very moment. The music is dark and mysterious sounding played with such passion. Gah! Makes me get the chills and want to play! How long have you been playing? Anyways, love the contrast with the lights and everything! Just Perfect!

Thanks!
I can almost hear the music..from this photograph.. Hmm.. I your comment and it have inspired me.. It's not very strong, but who knows.
It's a very pretty instruement, great music written for it. Let's see.. violin was my first instrument, some.. 9 years ago I started with that. Then, I moved to piano 2 years later. They are both my primary instruments, I do perform a lot of other stuff, too, such as marimba at the moment. So that's that.
Any recomendations on violin repertoire?

Wow....9 years! I have been playing for 6 years now and am now taking private lessons. It is a wonderful instrument. So is piano! Together they make something so awesome like violin and a cello! Ohhh they sound awesome together!
But advice on repertoire.....hummm...... I am playing a piece now that is really neat! Its called "Adoration." Love it! I also like the "Ladies in Lavendar" its quite difficult but 9 years of violin, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem! I can't really think of anything else that would be great. I love those two pieces....they just accent the violin's sound really well! Anyways, Glad to find someone else that has a passion like me.

Magic...from burnt violas..
Actually, it's leaned against the wall. If you look very carefully at the upper right of the instrument, where the scroll touches the wall, you'll see a shadow that indiates that it's touching the wall. Mm?

Yay for the diagonal!!! Wow... If you back off from it, it sooooo looks like a tornado... Like this cello (that's what it is, right?) has been playing this ferocious music for hours apon end... and finally has come to an abrupt stop... Wow... That was unexpected... Cool!
P.S. You're welcome!
