Description A shot from Sunday's adventurous hike to Apple Orchard Falls near Peaks, VA off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Hoping to return in a few weeks once everything has had a chance to bloom.

They are! Unless, like at many waterfalls I've visited, you're being slowly eaten alive by thousands of tiny gnats. I was surprised they were out this early in the year, too.

And not when the rock you're sprawled out on is covered in millions of microscopic black crawly things. Still shuddering at the thought of it. But the view was worth it... This was taken further down the river from the falls, so it was nowhere near the size of the big falls -> pmbphotography.com/blog/wp-con… They were beautiful! Western VA isn't too far of a drive for you, is it?

West Virginia is about 5 hours from my university, so it's a little ways off.
