Because I love him.He was the only one I didn't make a special illustration yet, and tough he's my favorite. So I fixed it.

Last character Study is Donnie. I believe all the turtles carry a huge weight on their shoulders and have insecurities of there own. Even the techno turtle is more than his smarts, not saying that isn't a huge part of who he is.Β
Donnie is academically superior to his brothers and is responsible for the necessary tech as well as amenities that are in the home. He literally keeps the lair in proper living condition so his family can life as comfortable as possible down in the sewers. Sure he may not be as dedicated to his training but he certainly does enough to help his brothers out with more than tech (which have saved all their asses plenty of times).
Let me ask, have you heard any of his brothers or his sensei thank him for what he provides as well as constantly repairing stuff (*cough cough* Leo and the toaster *cough cough*)? Would Donnie feel somewhat unappreciated because of that or feel that he is only worth something if he is building stuff. Of course, he has nothing to worry about but the feelings are still there and very real to him. What if his tech and medical knowledge fails and someone he cares about dies on his watch? What if there was something he missed that took a life or caused some great disaster. He's suppose to be so smart, but if he can't use his brain to save his family, then what use is he to his family.
I think Donnie forgets that he's loved not for his brains but for him. Yeah, his intelligence is a part of who he is but he needs to be remind him that his family loves him for him. All of who he is is loved and he would still be loved whether he had a big brain or not. Both he and Leo both need to be reminded at times that they are allowed to be just brothers, to comfort and be comforted. Same goes for Raph and Mikey. Everyone is capable of being smart, passionate, funny, and deadly serious. Nothing changes the fact that they are brothers and it will stay that way.Β
Donnie knows there are different ways of being intelligent besides academically, and that's something everyone can use.

Love the shading! It adds depth and warmer feelings into the pic (although the golden brown background helps). Also, it's nice to see Don doing something sciency once and a while! Usually, fanart is all about the ninja aspect.

Thanks so much !! I like him first because he's a scientist/mechano, then a ninja. I've always loved guys fixing things, I think, my two lovers were McGuyver and Donnie when I was a kid!

Yeah, I had two brothers who fanboied Mikey and Raph/Leo (younger bro switched periodically) which was good for me because even now I have a stack of old parts that I periodically take out and fix things with. I need to find more on McGuyver! Apparently he could create airplanes from toilet paper if he wanted to, according to legend.
