'Let me guide you through my mind..'

Woot, first pictures of my Steam dress Alice from Alice: Madness Returns that I wore at Connichi 2013. The Steamdress was really a challenge for me because I wanted to shake awake my sewing skills, and see if they still existed, hahah xD It was really nice to do some more sewing and less crafting for a change.

I thought it’d be fun to do a costume breakdown (copypasted from my post on tumblr xD), so here goes: The grey stripes were all sewn on individually (so much woooork aarghh) because I felt like in the game, it really looked as if the grey stripes were on top of the dress, with a shade inbetween them. So first I made the dress out of black linen and then added all the grey.

The corset is lined with linen and has steel boning for the shape. I destroyed a store bought clock to make the ‘wings’ on my back, but in the end the clock still worked (haha it really freaked people out xD) The wings and the Omega-dangle were made out of Worbla.

My dear Liza made the Vorpal Blade for me as a present, isn’t that sweet <3
