oh snap. expectations. i'm always afraid of that. i'm always afraid to dissapoint and i'm always afraid when others dissapoint. right now i'm squeeling like a little girl for Where The Wild Things Are and i hope it's as good as i wish.
haha. ahh and it's close to finish. i have a hole to fill and the last chapter to write.

You're always afraid to disappoint, and yet you never do.
I suppose your fear drives you?
Where the wild things are, I feel, will suck badly.
How you can take that book and turn it into a feature film is beyond me. If they can somehow pull it off, it will be amazing.
Their best shot is with a prequel, that will make you appreciate the book even more, but I don't see them doing that.

'hallucinogenic dreams and visions, stealing aborted fetuses from a dumpster behind a clinic, major drugs and sex, a growing cult' - it sounds intriguing with the picture - I've read the first part - and I wait for more.

I soooo want to read it!
Also, I was wondering, how much time do you usually use on each drawing?

usually between 3-6 hours. most of them i do in one sitting in early morning. my style is really simple. but something like this picture takes longer because it's just in black and white, which means i have to crosshatch. if you download it and look at the bricks, it's all crossed between. and that stuff takes forever.

now i'm interested!
but when will the story come out?
and why 2 dogs?
π: 0 β©: 1
xliveGAARA7 In reply to ZombieMoshPit [2009-06-25 05:13:05 +0000 UTC]
i'm not sure. i'm still writing the first draft of it but i'm not going to submit it on here. when it's ready, i'll just send a journal out saying if anyone wants to read it, i'll e-mail it to them. i'm a little concerned about theft. so i don't want to have it out in the open.
two dogs. well there's a lot of animals in it. they're just encountered in different ways. most of them are very un-animal like. i like dogs and they're animals that are very common. so living in the city like Boo does, he sees those city animals a lot.
neither of them are extremely important but they're just characters that make you think.

indeed. and that part goes rather indepth at explaining what the fetus looks like and how it got there and such and so. i think looking at aborted fetuses are one of those things that no one does but probably should. out of i don't know... just to make you think about what life really is. how it can be fair and unfair.

agreed now i'm not a reader but details i love!and if it is about something I really haven't seen before even better because my mind will create an image which i will enjoy even more than the real thing.well if I have one of em' smart moments where I actually try and read "between the lines" and analyze what the author really meant yes it does makes you thing about what life really is...i find it amazing how a single sperm out of kajillions can make it so small and fragile and grow so big and i see it as an evolution on fast forward.from a miniature lifeform it becomes a top-of-the-food-chain specie.I know my view is really really wrong biologically but hey if you don;t make it interesting for youself no one will.
yes!life is unfair but i guess life doesn't try to get back at you and stuff....randomness more like it.which reminds me that even the chaos has boundaries which cannot be traced or seen whithin a single human life...like a glass in a safe.it's bound to brake...when?no one knows but at one point it will.it's really a great topic on which I've spent literally hours on arguing with myself and taking different views and I don;t seem to see the end of it.Maybe it is simple like..everything has a beggining and an end but someone will say that's wrong and no one can really prove it or it's that i'm using like 10% of my brain and it's imposibble for me to understand it....ahh how I love when when you try to imagine something without and end but still your ming paints a constant picture still looking for it's end haha.

Chumbscrubber and Thumbsucker are the two ones he's in where it's uber good. both are wonderful.
he's a minor character in Chumbscrubber but it's a good movie that has some drugs, relationship, death, kidnap, violence, all in a small town over pills.
Thumbsucker i loooove. it's about a 17 year old kid who still sucks his thumb, he's really smart, but pretty antisocial. he gets sucked into new drug stuff, new scenes, and new romance. it's cute. i used to suck my thumb a lot. xP

That's a lot of elements to go into one story -- it would be interesting to see how you manage to pull it off, tie it all together so that it makes sense. Definitely interesting, though.
I really like how weathered Boo's face looks, the lines around his eyes say a lot. Once again the animals look great, and I really enjoy the grayscale and crosshatching as well.
My only critique would be the placement of the speech bubble, which makes it a little hard to see who's talking at first.
