The awkwardness was overwhelming, looking back years later Katara woyld recail it was almost physically painful. She looked anywhere but his eyes, even though she could feel his gaze searching her face. They stood like that, wordlessly for what seemed like an eternity, her not knowing what to say, and him waiting for a reply.

"Well...I guess that answers it then." Zuko finally said, unable to mask the sadness and disapointment in his voice. He brushed past Katara, who frantically turned around and reached for his arm.

"Wait!"

Zuko turned his sad eyes to the girl grasping his arm. "What?"

Katara finally found the strength to stare right back into his sun-like eyes. "I...I love you too."

Umm, yeah this was done in about half an hour cause I had 'inch' prepared for today...yeah I'm an idot And I had no idea what to do so I made up that little background story to make it more like the prompt? Umm, enjoy the crappiness and the trying-to-make-up-for-it really short sad excuse for a one-shot. Heh....heh...
