Kintaro (金太郎 often translated as "Golden Boy") is a folk hero from Japanese folklore. A child of superhuman strength, he was active and indefatigable, plump and ruddy, wearing only a bib with the Chinese character for "gold" (金 ).
Several tales tell of Kintaro's adventures, fighting monsters and demons, beating bears in sumo wrestling, and battling a giant carp. Here's a bloody version of the carp being slaughtered into half. haha.

The original Kintaro is a pretty cool character, but I've seen some pretty lame knockoffs(Kinta from Power Instincts). I really like how you drew Kintaro though. And since I'm doing a character based off of Kintaro soon, I thought I would favorite this, because you did great work on making him look good.

Great composition and color choices! I especially like the way the back of the axe head looks a bit like a fish's tail.

I LOVE it! I did unfortunately think he was a beefy kick ass girl when I first took a gander. If you hadn't made the golden boy notation I would have posted something about how SHE IS SO AWESOME.
I guess my love for tough girls that kick butt converted him into a her. The color on this one is great to... of course I almost always like what you post up here.
