Description
I know its simple probably with more of the same pose-wise and all that but this is only a test, and damnit I gave it my all. lol
I dont see many of the Dirge of Cerberus files around and now I understand why! Ooof I used just about everything I've come to learn at this point on making this even look just a tiny bit presentable and I STILL think it looks not so great XDD but you know what? For how it started, im VERY happy with how it did turn out.
Knowing that some of the base elements of the compilation are part of the remake, who knows, maybe we'll see something Dirge of Cerberus related with said remake in the future. I liked the compilation so, here's hoping!
(Let's keep the leak talk and like or dislike of the compilation arguments out of here though please, thanks!)
So lets get the negatives out of the way because there unfortunately is a few I have to address before it comes up XD. The model is from the ps2 days. Low quality. SMALL images. No extra textures other than the base diffuse ones. I had to make attempts to create them myself with Materialize. And that is something i still need to learn outright. The clothes, and the shoes were all .... painted i guess you could say onto the texture so they're not separate and that means making them look descent apart from the skin was not easy at all if not impossible. Even with masking. It's a low poly model (low compared to today's standards lol High for ps2 days i guess) so i had to do alot of trickery in blender to make it look a bit better and even more work in photoshop.
If anyone knows of how it might be possible to make these kind of models look better, I welcome those tips!
I have to give a shout out to NightysWolf for being so so so patient with me in what i've come to learn and giving me a hand at times and for sure, putting up with my constant run into walls and not letting me give up. Thank you so much!
When it comes to the picture itself, the reason why its so dark is because it's 'supposed' to be night time. I wanted to use sceneries outside of Midgar but... DoC ones arent available to my knowledge sadly. There's more light on her face because of a street lamp off screen and those bits of lifestream you see outside of Midgar, is off to the other side and I wanted her coat to sort of attempt to sway outward and around but you know... shadowing and me dont always mix so I had to improvise lol.
Thinking about how i was going to make this, I know one of Shalua's lines is that she's hoping to find her reason to live and that is what i wanted to try and portray here. She's literally out there looking. Amid the dank destruction of Midgar and beyond. I think that about covers it. Nice and simple ^^ Feel free to interpret how you'd like though.
