Well I don't know much about Miku and co so I didn't know she wasn't an anime character.

BUT IF SHE WAS, this would be my argument:

It's rather tasteless. In America, when Hurricane Katrina hit, you didn't see other people drawing popular American characters like Mickey Mouse looking all sad and "reacting" to the devastation. Since Japan is where anime originated, I can understand why some people would draw in anime style, but I feel as if more respect needs to be shown for those who have lost their lives/who were affected.

Ok, since I am a serious retard (but still besserwisser, which is like know-it-all). I can't/wouldn't counter your argument with anything. 'Cause when you put it that way... I agree, more or less (I'm can be VERY influenced by people I don't know)

And kinda off topic, buuut, if you don't know what Miku is from, you can't really help not to think she is an anime character. She's a character from Vocaloid. If you wanna know what that is, google it.
